Bundesliga Breakdown 5/30 – Ram’s Reasons

Saturday morning means more Bundesliga action on DraftKings! 4 games all kick off at 9:30am EST with Schalke (+150) vs Bremen, Mainz vs Hoffenheim (+140), Hertha Berlin (-110) vs Augsburg and Wolfsburg (-110) vs Frankfurt. Odds found at Bovada, and are subject to change, but this gives us a great shot as it is a big GPP kind of slate with the biggest club being Wolfsburg sitting in 6th but coming off a very surprising thrashing of Leverkusen. Let’s break down some key plays and a few deeper plays I like upon review of pricing.
Forwards:
High Priced (10k-8k)-
  • Hoffenheim F’s- GPP, top 3 priced forwards, Skov has been consistent , assisting in a goal last week, but even with that he only deliver 11.2 points for 9800. Kramaric still hasn’t trained, doubt he features if he does it hurts the others, Baumgartner exploded for 33.3 points by scoring twice and assisting once and got a $2100 price bump because of it. Hoffenheim went up a man for a while and they took advantage of it. Previous games of 7.6, 6.3, 14.3 show this was the outlier. But 10 shots in 3 games since the break is a surprise and he’s taking advantage of it.
  • Rashica– Cash/GPP, finally put a game together and had 15 points just with peripherals… 10 crosses was more like it and now he has a better matchup vs a very leaky Schalke.
  • Cunha-Cash/GPP, throw out the last game, it was a weird one vs RBL that saw his 4 game scoring streak come to an end. I like the bounce back vs Augsburg.
Mid Priced (7.9k-6.5k)-
  • Steffen- GPP, one of the goal scorers for Wolfsburg on the weekend, solid performer but got a $1800 price increase…. not as interested now.
  • Quaison- GPP, he’s due, he’s overdue, I’ll keep throwing a dart at him just in case he relocates his form (has 2 hat tricks on the season so the upside is there!)
  • Caliguri-GPP, another guy who hasn’t found his form. Schalke has been a mess but Bremen matchup is still inviting even given their current strong form.
  • Silva- GPP, 9 shots last two games. 2 goals in last 3. Tougher matchup vs Wolfsburg though.
  • Weghorst– GPP, has great goal scoring odds but man, his floor is like 3.
  • Dabbur- Deeper GPP, still getting fitness up to speed but has excellent scoring record and opportunities will be there if he starts up top again.
Cheapies (6.4k-3.5k)-
  • Niederlechner- GPP, I liked him last week as he started up top but he failed to produce and got a $1000 price decrease.
  • Bas Dost- deeper GPP, he can score but he doesn’t do much else… did have 4 shots last game, 2 on target.
  • Ibisevic– Cash/GPP, same boat as Cunha, throw out that RBL game, 2 other games since break he’s got 2 goals and an assist. Not bad upside for 5800.
Don’t love anyone below that and don’t think we need to go down there.
Midfielders-
High Priced (10.6k-8k)-
  • Kostic– Cash/GPP, I didn’t like him playing as a fullback last week, I went Havertz over him and that burned me good… he had…19 crosses, 1 assist, 5 shots (1 on goal) and 5 shots assisted. Heck of a stat sheet. Tougher matchup this week so don’t expect the same but the upside is real.
  • Arnold- Cash/GPP, here’s another guy who put up a HUGE game last week… 1 goal, 2 assists for 34.8 points in a tough matchup… and earned a $2300 price hike, ouch. Don’t expect the same but good matchup, has a floor of 8, but definitely can hit 20 this week.
Mid Priced (7.9k-6k)-
  • Max- GPP, I really liked Max this week and he did not pop. Respectable 12.3 but need more out of an 8k guy… upside there but I’m not as in on him this week.
  • Bittencourt- purely GPP as playing time is a concern. Came off bench midweek and hasn’t gone past 75 min since restart. But, he has great upside and has been playing really well with back to back 18 point games before the sub appearance, I’d assume he starts Saturday.
  • Kaderbak- GPP, he was everyone’s darling last weekend but floundered midweek, not quite sure I like the spot.
  • Martin– Cash/GPP, man your team loses 5-0 to RBL and you get a $1600 price jump? Granted he hit double digits in that thrashing. 10 crosses in that game, 16 in the one before. The floor is there.
  • Kamada- GPP, he popped off like a lot of Frankfurt… he had 6 shots, 5 on goal! Scored one for a great game with 24.8 points and got a $1700 price increase…. see a trend here? Do well once and BOOM price jump galore.
  • Lukebakio-GPP, I like Hertha a lot and he’s a good piece to have that is affordable, gets involved in the attack.
Cheapies Level 1 (5.9k-4k)-
  • Baku- Cash/GPP, really more of a fullback but has really been producing. Double digits in 2/3 games with lone miss vs RBL.
  • Darida– Cash/GPP, another Hertha piece for cheap to fill in. Pretty safe floor of around 7. Main set piece taker.
  • Klaassen– Cash/GPP, my boy has been a great value with 8 and 12 in his games back and still sits at an affordable 5500.
  • Lowen- GPP, he’s been starting and getting some decent numbers but the ceiling isn’t quite there. 10.1 in a game with just peripherals and 12.6 with a goal… if he can put those together then okay but hasn’t yet.
  • Rudy- GPP, came on at halftime mid week, didn’t do much to have an impact, he’s a floor play but not sure he interests me this week. I see other options.
  • Rode– cash/GPP, one of those options being Rode… 3 games 9, 21.5, 11.3…. and the last 2 were vs Bayern and Gladbach… I trust him in any matchup especially for 5k.
  • Kunde– Cash/GPP, another good option this week… I whiffed on him having sets midweek with the lineup changes and he pumped in 8 crosses…. keep eye for similar opportunities then lock if so.
  • McKennie- GPP, I talked him up a lot in discord then of course found myself off him and he goes out and scores… dang. Only bright side on the sinking Schalke ship really in attack.
Cheapies Level 2 (3.9k-3k)-
  • Martins- deep GPP, decent upside if starts.
  • Grillitsch- deep GPP, he had a bad half midweek but I still like his floor, 6.8, 11.3 in other 2 games he went 90 in since restart.
  • Sahin- deep deep GPP, doesn’t seem to be in Bremen’s plans but he has upside if given a chance.
  • Grujić- GPP, hit one true midweek for a great game, he was min price on showdown! He’s more of a 4-5 point guy though usually.
Defenders:
High Priced (6.7k-5k)-
  • Mittelstädt– Cash/GPP, plattenhardt is probably out with a concussion so he should have a great matchup to produce in. Not sure I’m gonna pay 6700 for him though.
  • Oczipka- Cash/GPP, best player on Schalke right now. Loves to get forward and cross. 4,4,9 last 3 for crosses.
  • Chandler- GPP, make sure he starts but offensive upside with peripherals… maybe scoring the equalizer gets him a start?
  • Mbabu- Cash/GPP, safe 7 point floor… good upside, otavio probably out again so he should push forward more again.
  • Toure- GPP, he’s been great since restart… 10.7, 12.8 and 9.7. And those are in tough matchups. Just tough to pay this high for not a elite guy.
  • Augustinsson-Cash/GPP…. well he didn’t see the pitch midweek but that just means they were saving him for Saturday! Love the upside play if he starts.
Mid Priced (4.9k- 4k)-
  • Hinteregger- GPP, was subbed out for possible injury but trained Thursday according to team report. 4 SOG last 2 games from CB.
  • Friedl- GPP, good game last time out… needs more consistency. Lower floor than some others.
  • Pekarik– Cash/GPP, big letdown midweek but I love his upside and that was vs RBL after all. Good spot.
  • Kenny- GPP, hope for a focused Jonjoe… otherwise it’s a low floor.
  • Selassie- GPP… has had 3 good games. 7, 7.5, 17.7. Has benefited from 2 clean sheets by Bremen though… tough to trust and without their best CB Veljkovic.
Cheapies (3.9k-2.5k)-
  • Posch- GPP punt, decent floor.
  • Langkamp- deep deep punt GPP, should start for Bremen, has a chance at 5 pts for min price.
Goalkeepers:
  • Jarstein– Cash, I love Hertha and they’ve been great defensively, 2 clean sheets and the 2-2 draw to RBL.
  • Baumann- GPP, 9 saves in last 3. Good matchup.
  • Pavlenka– Cash/GPP, last 2…. 0 goals against, 11 saves… but 4 goals against and 3 saves vs Leverkusen.
