Joey’s MNF Showdown Throwdown

Hello DFS Grinders and Welcome back to another one of my Monday Nigh Football Showdown Throwndown articles. Tonight we have a game against two very interesting teams. We have a 1-8 team loaded with talent but just can’t seem to get a mark in the win column and the other team who just made a QB change which turned out amazing for them but take what he did with a grain of salt. The Raiders are one of the worst defenses in the league so that was a perfect possible start he could have had. The Vegas line appears to have open today at 43.5 with a -3 spread in favor of SF, but now the O/U is 45 still with a -3 spread.

Studs/MVP Candidates

Im normally a huge fan of playing QBs on single game but this could be one of those non QB slates. They overpriced Mullins after one great game against a bad defense and you don’t really need Eli if you are trying to fit Barkley and OBJ in the same lineup on FD at least. On DK you can always fit all 3 by playing a cheap CPT.

Saquan Barkley: He is the obvious top play on the board and he is priced exactly that way. He is 4th in the league in scrimmage yards per game and over the last few games he’s been killing; surpassing 10 targets in 3 straight games. His floor is insanely high as an RB with 10+ target upside on high percentage passes that equals easy catches. I think you just have to lock him into all formats. Fade at your own risk or if you are going for 1st or bust. He is my top MVP and one of my top considerations for CPT if I am paying up.

Odell Beckham Jr: This is a trickier play. The 49ers are so bad against the pass except for one guy that man is Richard Sherman and he’s been one of the best Cornerbacks in the league this year. It could be impart due to the other players in the secondary being so bad that there’s no point in throwing to him. It’s not like OBJ will face him every snap because he moves around the field and plays every WR position there is but he will see him around 30-40% of the time which means I’m not locking him in. OBJ also plays a good amount of snaps out of the slot which is perfect against the 49ers who struggle in the middle of the field.

George Kittle: We saw last game Mullins was able to move the ball around pretty well. Kittle was saved by a 71 yard catch and run for a TD. He should see a lot more targets against a defense that really struggles vs TEs.

Middle Tier

Sterling Shepard: He runs a majority of his routes out of the slot and the 49ers have really struggled with that. Honestly you can target anyone out of that secondary as long as they are avoiding Richard Sherman they are in a fantastic spot.

Evan Engram: Teams who actively use TEs have had major success getting the TE involved early and often. Kelce and Graham were both able to reach over 100 yards. While multiple TEs were able to find the endzone.

This could be one of the major decisions between taking down a GPP or just cashing.

Matt Breida: I’ve noticed him fitting a lot of my early roster constructions. He’s not my favorite play but I do like him if you have the salary for him. He is going up against a giants defense that is in the bottom half of the league in rushing yards give up. This might be due to the fact that the Giants cause the opposing team into positive game script which we could see again tonigh.

Kickers and Defense

I love targeting the Giants with Defenses the sack upside is huge against this team. The 49ers even though they struggling in the air they are great at getting to the QB.

I’ll keep it short and sweat kickers are always in play if you are looking for value. These guys are no more special than any other kicker on most slates. Also another note I wanted to add; I will be playing both kickers in this inverted single game mode on FD. They both have potential to bust if there are only TDs or a team happens to get shut out.

Cheap Tier

I’m really trying to fit Barkley OBJ and Kittle into the same lineup and this guy is the one that will help you get it done. I have been money on my cheap calls and I am hoping for another fire next to his name on DK. I hope this guy will help you win all the money tonight.

Kendrick Bourne: He is only 2k and the last time we saw Pierre Garcon sidelined Bourne saw a huge increase in snaps. He also had a great game he had 10 targets and turned that into 7/71. Last game he was targeted twice on only 6 routes run. We could see a great game from Bourne tonight.
