The Tampa Bay Rays get an elite matchup against Ty Blach, who has struggled with a 6.52 xFIP and a 5.86 SIERA through four games (two starts). He has struggled against right-handed batters, allowing them to hit for a .347 average with a .612 slugging percentage and a .432 wOBA. He has also given up a .438/.688/.493 line at home this season. Keep in mind, his innings are limited at this point in the season. Tommy Pham has seen mixed results recently, recording a .222 average with a .500 slugging percentage and a .891 OPS over his last 10 games. He boasts four extra-base hits (three home runs) over that span, as well. He also possesses 34% hard hit and 30% fly ball rates with a 90 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Pham has been a more consistent option against left-handed pitching, as he brings a 0.073 wOBA differential against left-handed pitching into this game. d’Arnaud is in a similar position as Pham, as he enters this game with 0.05 wOBA and 0.148 ISO differentials against left-handed pitching. With that being said, he’s only hitting .235 with a .294 slugging percentage and a .576 OPS over his last 10 games. He owns only two extra-base hits over that span, as well. Furthermore, d’Arnaud has posted 34% hard hit and 39% fly ball rates with an 87 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Trevor Richards will be taking the mound for Tampa Bay tonight. He has struggled with a 5.22 xFIP and a 5.02 SIERA through 24 games (21 starts) in 2019. Richards has been significantly worse against left-handed pitching, allowing them to hit for a .283 average with a .456 slugging percentage and a .355 wOBA. He has also given up a .261/.438/.334 line on the road in 2019. Jonathan Villar owns a .342 average with a .553 slugging percentage and a .984 OPS over his last 10 games. Over that span, he owns four extra-base hits (two home runs). He has struggled a bit with 31% hard hit and 24% fly ball rates to go along with an 89 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Still, he brings 0.056 wOBA and 0.072 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching into this game.
