Slate Thoughts:

  • There are a few pitchers that are going to garner ownership on this slate. If you’re spending up Trevor Bauer and Zack Greinke make the most sense. Both get plus matchups today. I slightly prefer Bauer for his price tag and strikeout potential, but Greinke is also an elite option. It’s unlikely you’ll fit both into your cash builds, but starting with one of these two as your SP1 makes the most sense on this slate.
  • Carlos Carrasco is another pitcher with plenty of strikeout potential in a great matchup. He’s a bit cheaper than the top options and makes an outstanding SP2 play today. Mitch Keller could also garner some ownership, but he makes a better tournament option than cash games on this slate. Vince Velasquez has been working on a new pitch mix and gets a great first matchup against the Miami Marlins. He’s a significantly cheaper option as an SP2 today.
  • There are three top stacks on this slate, specifically for cash. The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers game can be stacked because of the wind in Chicago. The Cubs are the better option of the duo, but a game stack can be used with the weather. The Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox are two more stacks that are in elite positions tonight. Boston has a few cheap bats that make their stack easy to fit, but they should take a backseat in cash games to the weather in Chicago. Regardless, any of these stacks can be considered.
  • The Cincinnati Reds quietly make an outstanding tournament stack tonight. They have a few absurdly cheap options, including Jesse WinkerJosh VanMeter, and Shogo Akiyama that will allow you to use two elite pitching options. The Cleveland Indians and a game stack of the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins can also be used in tournaments on this slate.
