*If you don’t already play 3 lineups and 3 max entry contests daily, try using the teams provided in the stacks above to maximize upside and correlation in your MLB lineups.

Slate Thoughts:

  • The cash options at pitchers are crystal clear on this slate. You’re going to fit in Max Scherzer and Lance McCullers. You’re going to be forced to find some value with your bats, but spending up for pitching is going be necessary on this slate. If you’re looking to value because you want to spend up on bats, Robbie Erlin is the minimum price and has flashed strikeout stuff this season. It will be difficult for him to burn you as an SP2 at $4K.
  • Zack Wheeler is the first GPP option that stands out. He’ll be low-owned because of his price but gets a revenge matchup against his former team and comes with quite a bit of upside. Jon Lester will also go overlooked, although he doesn’t possess the same ceiling as some of the other options on this slate. Elieser Hernandez, Adam Plutko, and Josh Lindblom are three cheaper options that can be considered on this slate.
  • The two chalkier stacks on this slate will likely be the Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins. Both teams have a few cheaper options that will allow you to spend up at pitching. You can also use a guy like Luis Garcia who is the minimum price tag in cash games. I have him as a GPP play, but you may be forced to use him as salary relief in cash games.
  • The Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies are two teams that get elite matchups today and are seemingly going overlooked. Either side of the Atlanta Braves/Miami Marlins game is also appealing in deep GPPs. The final stack that I’m considering is the Washington Nationals. They hit left-handed pitching extremely well, get a ballpark boost, and burned plenty of fantasy players last night. They’re risky but come with plenty of upside, even with an injured offense.
