Here we go again with Mike Trout. He has been playing at a high level, posting a .297 average with a .757 slugging percentage and a 1.179 OPS over his last 10 games. He owns 7 extra-base hits (5 home runs) and 14 RBIs over that span. He has recorded 55% hard hit and 61% fly ball rates with a 98 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. Trout gets an elite matchup against Clayton Richard, who has struggled against right-handed batters this season. He has been better against right-handed batters, but he still owns a career .291 average with a .530 slugging percentage, .947 OPS, .403 wOBA, and .239 ISO against lefties. Trout is expected to hit second in the Los Angeles Angels lineup, and he makes an elite option on this slate once again.
Bryce Harper has been struggling a bit recently, as he’s only hitting .194 with a .323 slugging percentage and a .713 OPS over his last 10 games. He has posted two extra-base hits (one home run), five RBIs, and one stolen base in those games. Harper has also recorded 46% hard hit and 30% fly ball rates with a 94 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He gets an elite matchup against Erick Fedde, who is due for regression. Harper has surprisingly been better against left-handed pitching this season, but he has found plenty of success against righties throughout his career. He comes with a bit more risk than Trout, but Harper also makes a strong play for the over.
