We’re going to ride this heater that Mookie Betts is on until we can’t anymore. Over his last 10 games, he’s hitting .390 with a .634 slugging percentage and a 1.081 OPS. He owns six extra-base hits (two home runs), seven RBIs, and two stolen bases over that span. Furthermore, Betts has posted 44% hard hit and 55% fly ball rates to go along with a 93 MPH exit velocity over the last 15 days. He has been better against right-handed pitching this season, but his numbers against lefties are nothing to scoff at. Betts gets a matchup against Jalen Beeks tonight, and the only concern is that he will be playing in a pitcher friendly stadium. Still, Betts has been as hot as anyone in the MLB recently, and he makes a solid option for the over.
Mike Clevinger has gotten a bit unlucky this season, and he is due for positive regression. Through seven starts, he has posted a 3.57 ERA, but he has thrown significantly better than that, as he also owns a 2.27 xFIP and a 2.83 SIERA. Most importantly, Clevinger enters this game with elite 41.4% strikeout and 17.3% swinging strike rates. He gets a plus matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays, who rank seventh on the slate in strikeouts per at-bat, while also ranking as a slightly above average offense in team wOBA. Clevinger threw 100 pitches in his last game, and I’m anticipating he will do that again tonight. He’s also averaging 59.0 fantasy points per game when he gains a quality start.
