Bobby’s MLB Batter UP (4/6/19)

MLB BATTER UP April 6th, 2019

In this article I’ll be keeping a similar approach to how I built my article last season with my stacks, players I’m targeting from those stacks (and why), low-owned home run calls per position, and highest upside plays per position.  As always, keep in touch with me through Discord and Twitter (@DF_Advantage) to suggest things you’d like me to add or take away from this article.

Top Stacks

One of the most important concepts to understand in DFS MLB.  Watch our daily YouTube live podcast for more information on this understanding/mindset.  Keep in mind it is ok to stack 4 guys or 3 from the same team.  This mathematically increases your chances of “cashing” in tournaments.  It isn’t as necessary to stack in cash games (double ups/heads up).  Below is our rankings starting from the best at number 1.

Not only will I be identifying two teams I believe you should target in GPPs, but I will also discuss in the analysis which specific players I want exposure from these two teams AND why.

Athletics – Today is a shorter 6 game slate so I’m going to go basically all in on one team today and use my one-offs that have upside as well as low-ownership (found below) to construct my main GPP lineups.  The Athletics don’t have a major total tonight but this is another spot where I think they are being completely undervalued by Vegas.  Today they are facing Wade Miley, not a good pitcher who projects to do very poorly in the 2019 season with the Astros.  People may be scared off by what the Houston Astros have been able to do with pitchers in the past but I do not have the slightest of concerned.  This A’s team is built around power and now they get a shift to a positive ballpark as the away team where they are guaranteed 9 innings of AB’s.  They are going to go lower owned than you think tonight and the 5-man stack for me is fully in play.  In order of projected wOBA tonight the players I am most high on in this stack include Khris Davis, Matt Chapman, Stephen Piscotty, Mark Canha, and Marcus Semien. I fully expect 5 or more runs from the A’s tonight and if making bets would hammer the OVER here.

      • Best “One-Off” – Matt Chapman
      • Best Bet for a Homerun – Khris Davis

Make sure to stay up to date with my core plays which can be utilized for cash games and single entry GPPs by DMing me on twitter and signing up for our core plays at www.dfskarma.com/shop (use promo code DOUBLEPLAY to get a discount).  I will always be in discord, as usual, answering questions and giving additional insight to our subscribers and community on the day’s slate.
