Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/13/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/13/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

We have a huge 13 game slate on tap tonight, and I’m going to be building for the $121 Single Entry on DraftKings for this article.

Top Stacks

I really like all of Max Scherzer, Kevin Gausman and Chase Silseth at SP tonight. I didn’t want to lock in two pitchers for this build, but I did decide on Mad Max as my number one and locked him into 100% of the 500 lineups. I then locked in Brad Miller, who is my favorite value one-off on this slate. I also removed the Coors Field game, since I try to avoid that ownership in tourneys. Below are the results for the top stacks the simulations returned in the 500 lineup run.

I play the Yankees a ton in DFS, so I’m really not upset that the sims love them tonight. They’re almost double the next stack, and were already high up my board for tonight. They match up with Vince Velasquez who always allows power, and has been pretty bad this season. He’s been pretty reverse-splits, so I don’t think we need to focus on one specific side of the plate here. We want to focus on the power-hitters, and the guys that hit fastballs well like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Joey Gallo. Without locking in a second-pitcher, we can make moves in this stack either up to another ace or down to Silseth and fitting in another mini-stack around the Yankees. One option would be to pair Corey Seager with Brad Miller, but that would likely only be possible with Silseth at SP2.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I 100% want to four or five-man stack the Yankees in this spot and deciding on a mini-stack around them will be crucial to success.
