Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/16/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/15/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

We have a big 11 game slate on tap for Monday, with a pretty lackluster set of pitchers. I will be building once again for the smaller-field, single-entry GPP style contests.

Top Stacks

It’s a Coors Field slate, and the Giants are underpriced which will force a ton of ownership onto them. I will be playing SF in my main lineup, but I have went ahead and X’d them out of this build, as well as the Rockies. I then locked in Luis Severino and Zach Logue at my pitcher spots.

The sims love the Yankees today, and it’s not even particularly close. New York has won me more money than any other MLB team — let’s look at the match-up. They match up with Kyle Bradish who has flashed strikeout upside for the O’s this season, striking out 25% of batters with an 11% swinging strike rate. He is allowing a lot of power to right-handed batters, which is where the Yankees can beat you. He’s mainly fastball/slider — two pitches that the Yankees power hitters excel against. I don’t love the spot for the White Sox or Cubs, and the Yankees do have slate-breaking upside at what will be low ownership.

Conclusion

I am rolling with a full five-man Yankees stack tonight, focused on the power right-handed bats with either of Joey Gallo or Anthony Rizzo.
