Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/22/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/22/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

We have a nice Sunday slate on tap, and I will be looking for the best stack for single entry tournaments on DraftKings.

Top Stacks

No Coors Field on this slate, but I went ahead and locked in Shane Bieber and Yusei Kikuchi at pitcher — let’s see what stacks the simulations build around those two pitchers.

Three teams lead the way here with the Dodgers, Rays and Mariners all coming in over 30%. Tampa Bay definitely sticks out to me against Spenser Watkins who has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball this season. Watkins has been especially bad against right-handed batters this season — making Randy Arozarena and Yandy Diaz the standout plays here in addition to the left-handed Wander Franco and Ji-Man Choi. Watkins’ most-used pitch to both sides of the plate is his cutter, and most of the Rays good hitters have above-average numbers against the pitch. It’s also some of the best hitting weather on the slate — 90 degrees in Baltimore today with winds blowing out to center.

Conclusion

I’ll be focusing on a full five-man Rays stack today — and given how cheap the stack is I might actually be able to upgrade and spend up for both of my pitchers.
