Lineup Optimizer Strategy Picks for MLB 5/6/22

Welcome everyone to our Lineup Optimizer strategy article for 5/6/22. This is a new article I will be doing daily that discusses the stacks and players the optimizer is popping for today’s slate. We are very blessed to have out optimizer powered by SaberSim — and you can get access by clicking HERE. Let’s get into it…

Overview

I wanted to build for three max contests tonight, but with five PPD’s across the board I’m going to stick with my single entry build for tonight.

Top Stacks

Way too much weather on this slate has resulted in a depleted pitching pool — I’ve went ahead and locked in Luis Garcia and Josh Winder — giving me plenty of money to spend on any stack I want.

The sims love Minnesota tonight and I can’t blame them in a match-up with Zach Logue and the Oakland A’s bullpen. That being said, I’m going to focus more on the Los Angeles Angels against Joan Adon given the salary that I have to spend. Adon is pretty bad to both sides of the plate, but especially so against left-handed hitters making Shohei Ohtani, Jared Walsh and Brandon Marsh the priorities with Mike Trout and either of Taylor Ward or Anthony Rendon the remaining members of our stack. Adon throws a ton of fastballs — with Trout, Marsh, Ohtani and Rendon being the best fastball hitters on this team.

Conclusion

I rarely have this much money to spend on a stack, so jamming in an expensive one like the Angels is my move tonight. I want to focus on the lefties + the good right-handed fastball hitters in Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon.
