Washington Nationals/Philadelphia Phillies

Max Scherzer (-125)

Aaron Nola (+105)

Two of the best starting pitchers in the MLB will face off tonight. Max Scherzer has been nearly untouchable on the road this season, where he owns an 8-3 record with a 1.82 ERA through 12 starts. He has also found success against the Philadelphia Phillies, allowing only three earned runs through 13.1 innings. Furthermore, he has held his opponents to two or fewer earned runs in each of his last seven starts. Aaron Nola will be taking the mound for the Phillies, and he has been an elite pitcher in Philadelphia this season. Through 12 home starts, he owns a 9-0 record with a 2.00 ERA. He has also looked phenomenal against the Washington Nationals this season, holding them to only three runs over 21.2 innings. The odds are a bit surprising on this, but that simply means we can take advantage of them.

New York Mets/Chicago Cubs

Jacob deGrom (+120)

Cole Hamels (-140)

I generally hate betting game totals, but this is the second one on the day. Jacob deGrom has been the best pitcher in the MLB this season, sporting an 8-8 record with a 1.71 ERA. He has also allowed more than three earned runs only once this season – April 10. deGrom has also allowed no earned runs in 30.8% of his games. He has thrown eight or more innings in six of his last nine starts, as well. Cole Hamels has not been enjoying the same success as deGrom this season, but he has been throwing at an elite level since joining the Chicago Cubs. He has allowed only three earned runs through 34 innings, while not allowing more than one earned run in any of those games. The only major concern in this game is the weather, which will be extremely hitter friendly. Still, both pitchers have the stuff to shut down elite offenses in the best hitting conditions.

St. Louis Cardinals

Jack Flaherty (-175)

The St. Louis Cardinals have been playing at a high level over the last week, posting a 4-1 record, while averaging 5.6 runs per game. Jack Flaherty will be taking the mound for St. Louis tonight, and he has been throwing at a high level all season, specifically over his last nine games. Over that span, he owns a 4-2 record with a 2.64 ERA. He has also allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last four starts. He also gets an elite matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are only 1-4, while averaging 4.2 runs per game over the last week. The Cardinals also get an elite matchup against Ivan Nova, who has struggled on the road this season. Through 12 road starts, he owns a 5-3 record with a 5.18 ERA. He also gave up four earned runs in only four innings in his only matchup against St. Louis this season.
