MLB DFS 4/17/22 – Top Stacks For Draftkings/Fanduel

First of all, Happy Easter!! Welcome to our MLB DFS Top Stacks for 4/17/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall stacks for today’s main slate. We got a big 10 game slate today and there are a ton of great ways to go. It is a slate very little value in pitching so hitting the right stacks should be pivotal today. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate this season — you can gain access to the Core Plays as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the stacks…

Toronto Blue Jays

Projected to be the best stack today and for good reason. Adam Oller is a hitters dream matchup as he has a hard hit rate of 66.7 and an exit velocity (EV) rate of 101. This just means that batters hitting against him are hitting the ball over 100 mph on contact. This bodes very well for Toronto as they have a ton of guys with power and a ton of guys that hit the ball and get on base. I don’t think there is a wrong way to go when deciding what players to stack. Your obvious one is 1-5 which is doable but with pitching being rough today you might wanna think of a different kind of stack too fit better pitchers in. Zack Collins has been hitting well recently and gets the 6th spot in the order. Vlad Guerrero could easily hit a pair of homeruns today and the sky is the limit for this team.

Philadelphia Phillies

They get a solid matchup against Elieser Hernandez who has struggled recently, even going back to last year. This is also a matchup in a dome so weather isn’t as much of a concern which only benefits Philly even more. The top of the line up for them showcases a lot of power and great hitters who should get to Hernandez fast and often. They should go overlooked as TOR and NYY are projecting for higher ownership and make for a solid GPP play today. Rhys Hoskins in particular, has been hitting well recently and is one of my favorite tournament plays coming in batting clean up. It should allow him to pick up some RBI’s and is a solid pivot off the popular Vlad Jr.

New York Yankees

I wrote them up yesterday and see no reason to not dip back into the well again. Bruce Zimmerman has a 10.20 FIP (Fielding Independant Pitching) against the current NYY roster and is somebody we want to attack today. The bullpen doesn’t get much better either and they’re rolling out a roster of all righties today against him. This stack should go lower owned than Toronto and has similar upside overall. Kyle Higashioka didn’t start yesterday but he is batthing 7th today and is a cheaper value piece in this stack that I really want to have. He hasn’t hit the ball well yet but it will come as he has been working on his power swing and clearly New York has faith in him after shipping Gary Sanchez away before the season started.

BONUS: If you’re trying to get different, I really like stacking the Pirates/Nationals game. It is the only game we have today with the wind blowing out and Corbin didn’t look great in his first two games. Even bringing a PIT stack back with a couple of Nats could be a solid choice as pitching isn’t any better for the Pirates. This game should go overlooked a little and makes for a solid GPP stack.
