MLB DFS 4/23/22 – Spikes’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 4/22/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. Last year was an extremely big year for the Karma team in MLB, and we are looking to continue that success in 2022. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the plays…

Pitcher

Matt Brash

This a young and upcoming guy who has a ton of pontential and so far this year has been pitching well. This is a fantastic matchup as the Royals have been very lackluster to begin the year outside of Perez. He throws three pitches 20% of the time which can keep the bats guessing which, in a already shady offense is a great thing. He boasts a 26.2% strikeout rate and I only expect all his stats to continue to get even better with time. He has also beein priced up quite a bit and I’m hoping that keeps ownershp somewhat down. There is only two players in the Royals offense with a hard hit % over 50 and they have been striking out a lot.

Noah Syndergaard

Thor is probably the better looking SP2 tonight. His ERA through 11 innings is 1.59 and it looks like he is slowly getting back to his former self. The matchup is pretty ideal as Baltimore has been very unamusing so far this season and have been striking out an awful lot. Expect him to get a little more leash tonight as I am projecting him for about 90 pithers or 6-7 innings give or take. He has been averaging about four K’s a game but his upside is far more than that while also carrying a FIP of 2.95. Darvish is projecting for a tad more ownership in a much rougher spot and this is aoslid pivot off the former.

Building Blocks

Ty France

This guy has been seeing and hitting the ball extremely well to start off the year. Currently sporting a wOBA of .416 and striking out only 11.3% of the time which is 7th and 3rd best amongst first basemen. He is also T15th for HR’s so far in the entire league with 3 to go along with 12 RBI’s. I could go on and on about this guy because he is just playing great baseball. He also gets a favorable matchup against Kris Bubic who is, lets just say not a great pitcher. He only has three pitches he throws and only and has a strikeout percentage of just 15.4%. It is also a righty on lefty matchup which only helps Ty’s case and is one of my favorite plays on the entire slate. FYI at the current moment he is projecting for just 3% ownership!

Manny Machado

Talk about another guy who has started off the year hot! A lot of ownership should go to LAD tonight but Manny makes for a solid one off. He was low owned last night and it just didn’t pan out. That being said, he should go a little under the radar again tonight and is firmly in play for me. Sporting a 56.8 hard hit rate so far which is the highest on the team. The matchup isn’t ideal as Tyler Anderson has been solid in his small sample so far, but this guy is matchup proof for me and it doesn’t seem likely that they will just intentionally walk him. Oddly enough he is also leading all third basemen in stolen bases (3) which is always a nice bonus of fantasy points.

Bold Call

Ty France goes yard twice!
