MLB DFS 5/30/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Happy Memorial Day!! Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 5/30/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the plays…

Pitcher

Zac Gallen

Gallen has been bery good for Arizona to start off this season. Walking 5.7% of batters and striking out 24.7%. The matchup against Atlanta isn’t terrible but not great either. I will also note he has been pitching better at home too. Look, pitching isn’t great today and he is my SP1 today hands down. Despite the Braves recent little surges of offense, as a team they strike out a lot. There is only one player on their team right now under a 20% strikeout rate. I do like stacking Arizona too tonight and believe there is some correlation between having the same pitcher as your stack. Did I mention his hard hit rate is at 31%? he ranks in the top 15 in the league in that category.

Walker Buehler

As I said before, there is a lack of options on the mound tonight. Walker easily has the best matchup of the night but he just hasn’t been striking out batters as much this year. I find myself still looking towards him as the Pirates have just been atrocious. Buehler owns a 25% strikeout rate against them and on the year is only walking 6.4% of batters. He also has an array of pitches to keep them guessing  (6). The areas in which he lacks should be made up for with the overall lackluster baseball the Pirates have been playing with.

BONUS: Aaron Ashby is a gret pivot off the Walker chalk.  Striking out 26.4% of batters on the year and giving up hard hit contatc only 29.5% of the time. The Cubs aren’t a team I am really scared of but they are pesky and can strew together hits every once in a while.

Building Blocks

Julio Daniel Martinez

AKA JD Martinez, is arguably the best overall hitter in baseball right now. He has a batting average of .379 and has a hard hit contact rate of 47. He hits fastballs extremely well and by no surprise that is Tyler Wells go to pitch. Boston has a team run total of over 6 runs at the moment and are in a great spot once again. In his last six games he has thirteen hits but only 3 RBI’s. This number will chanhge as he continues to get a ton of base hits and even has flashes of power hitting too. His barrel % is 15.7 which is top 6 across the entire MLB. I think he is a solid one off tonight and a must play in a stack here.

David Peralta

Not someone I write up too often but I really like Arizona in general today. Peralta has been having a solid year so far. Rocking 8 homeruns and 21 RBI’s to go along with a hard hit contact rate of 43. Strider throw a fastball over 70% of the time and this team in general can hit those very well. David has six of his eight homeruns against it. The other pitcher Stider throws a ton is a slider which is what Peralta’s other two homeruns have come off of. He is projected to hit fifth tonight and should go overlooked with Boston and Los Angeles being the top overall spots.

Bold Call

Zac Gallen stirkes out double digit batters!
