MLB DFS 6/26/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 6/26/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. You can also try out the Core Plays package with a $5 day pass. Let’s get to the plays…

Pitcher

Shane McClanahan

Well your SP1 is pretty straight forward today. Shane has the easiest matchup today hands down against Pittsburgh. He is expensive but worth every penny. 90% of this Pirates team strikes out over 20% of the time and only a small handful of them make hard contact 40% of the time or more. McClanahan has been having an elite season sporting video game like numbers.  35% strike out rate to go along with hard contact 33% of thetime and an xwOBA of .264! His curveball has even gotten better this year with an extra 2.7 inches of drop on it making it more difficult to hit it or determine if it’ll be a strike or not. Lock and load him as your SP1 on draftkings and your only pither on FD for cash games!

Dylan Cease

For your SP2, it makes a lot of sense to go to Cease. Against this current roster for Baltimore he has a 27.5% strikeout rate. For the yer, only giving up hhard contact 33% of the tie and walking batters a mere 11%. Let’s also acknowledge that Baltimore strikes out a fair amount. They have been pesky but I think Cease should be able to stymie them. There is major stirkeout upside and he is solid in all formats today!

BONUS: In GPPS i think there is a wider field to choose from that includes Gilbert, Snell, Eflin and Faedo.

Building Blocks

Nathaniel Lowe

Both my building blocks today are cheaper value options that will be needed with a double spend up at pitcher. Lowe has been playing his part well this year. Sporting a .269 batting average to go along with nine homeruns and 28 RBI’s.  He has an xwOBA of .336 as well. The Rangers should be pretty popular today given the spot they are in but Lowe is batting sixth in the order. This should keep hiw ownership down and give you some decent leverage on the position. There are a ton of options at first base but this is an easy value play for me and should allow you to spend up at other positions that aren’t as loaded.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr

Toronto in general is in a solid spot today ahainst Chi Chi Gonzalez. He is sporrting a 12.8% strikeout rate to go along with an xwOBA of .378. Gurriel is hitting for .288 with 322 RBI’s so far and is a cheap way to get into this lineup. With hard contact 47% of the time and only stirking out 18% he makes for a solid option. With him hitting towards the bottom of the lineup ownership should start relatively low. All of his homeruns this year have come off fastball’s and slider’s. Which of course, happen to be Chi Chi’s most thrown pitches. There is also a little bit of humidity to guve a slight edge to batters as well!

Bold Call

Dylan and Shane combined for 25 strikeouts!
