MLB DFS 6/27/22 – Ben’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 6/24/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. Last year was an extremely big year for the Karma team in MLB, and we are looking to continue that success in 2022. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. Let’s get to the plays…

Above is an example of the Core Plays given out to Subscribers on Friday May 13th

Pitcher

Pitcher starts with George Kirby for me on Mondau, who once again is way too cheap on DraftKings. He’s priced at just $7,100, despite owning the highest strikeout rate on the board and matching up with the Baltimore Orioles. After Kirby, you can either spend up on either of Kevin Gausman or Pablo Lopez, or save with Jordan Montgomery against the Oakland A’s. Monty is projected as the highest-owned arm tonight just ahead of Kirby, but I don’t really like the idea of chalk Jordan Montgomery even against the A’s. He just doesn’t get enough strikeouts for me. I ultimately spend up on either of Gausman or Lopez — with my lean towards Lopez as of right now.

Building Blocks

Nelson Cruz

Cruz matches up with Miguel Yajure who is confirmed starting for the Pirates tonight. Typically, we like to target Cruz vs left-handed pitching but we can make an exception tonight. Despite lackluster numbers vs righties this season, he’s still hitting the ball hard with a 44% hard-hit rate, On top of that, Yajure struggles with righties allowing a .420 wOBA and .350 ISO. Washington has a pretty big team total over five runs tonight, and I think Cruz is underpriced especially for his ceiling in this spot.

Daniel Vogelbach

Vogelbach will likely be one of the higher-owned value plays on Monday — especially with people trying to jam in the Dodgers in Coors Field. Erick Fedde has not been overly bad to either side of the plate this season, but Vogy has been one of the Pirates best hitters. HIs .355 wOBA is best on the Pirates and it comes with a team-high .259 ISO as well. The one way to beat Fedde is with power, so taking the savings and plugging in Vogelbach even as a one-off is a fine move on either site tonight.

Bold Call

Nelson Cruz hits two HR’s!
