MLB DFS 7/22/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Top Play – Tyler O’Neill

O’Neill has been my favorite value for a few slates, and he is once again priced at just $3,300. St. Louis has one of the bigger team totals on the board tonight at 5.7 runs — matched up against Graham Ashcraft. Ashcraft has flashed upside for the Reds, but has outperformed his advanced numbers. He struggles more with right-handed batters, allowing a .384 wOBA in the split compared to a .232 mark vs lefties. O’Neill hasn’t been his usual self in 2022, but his .423 expected wOBA is actually the second-highest number on the Cardinals roster. We know he has slate-breaking power, and this is too cheap for his upside in a good match-up.

Top Pitcher – Max Scherzer

We are awarded a massive 14 game slate tonight, and that comes with plenty of ace-level pitching. Corbin Burnes, Shohei Ohtani and Yu Darvish headline the other names on the bump tonight…but I’m siding with Scherzer. For starters, he’s been absolutely dominant since returning from injury sporting a 43% strikeout rate and sub-2.00 SIERA. He has a tough match-up against the Padres tonight, but this is the exact type of match-up that he gets up for. He also has decimated the current Padres lineup, with a 32% strikeout rate and .284 expected wOBA allowed over 182 plate appearances. We know he has monster upside, and he is my favorite play on Friday night.

Top Super-Flex Play – Patrick Corbin

Typically this season I have been willingly attacking Patrick Corbin with whatever team he is facing, but that has not been the case over the last month. Something has clearly clicked for the veteran pitcher, and while the season long numbers look bad he has actually been quite solid over the last month. His SIERA is down to a respectable 3.54 over the last 30 days, and that comes with 25% strikeouts. These numbers won’t blow you away, but they are quite good for a pitcher priced at $7,500. He also has a strong match-up against the Diamondbacks, who struggle with lefty pitching. Arizona is in the bottom-half of the league in wRC+ and ISO against lefties this season, and they strike out around 23% as well. There seems to be some confusion as to who will officially start this game, but if it’s confirmed to be Corbin I think he is a fantastic value at his price tag.
