MLB DFS 8/18/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Top Play – Manny Machado

We have a really solid value pitcher today, which is awarding us with the ability to spend up for our top batter on Thursday night. Machado and the Padres find themselves in a great spot, matched up against Anibal Sanchez. Sanchez has been horrific against right-handed hitters this season allowing a .483 wOBA and .338 ISO in the split. Machado is the best right-handed hitter in this lineup, and owns fantastic numbers against righties in his own right. Overall, I think San Diego has the highest ceiling as a stack and locking in Machado at the top of the order is a priority.

Top Pitcher – Jacoob deGrom

There are two aces throwing tonight — Jacob deGrom and Yu Darvish — but we have to side with deGrom given that their prices are the same. deGrom is truly from another planet, it’s his world and we are just living in it. He hasn’t topped 80 pitches in a start yet this season, but still has double-digit strikeouts in two of three outings. There is nobody that can rival his upside on this slate, and he’s a must play in all formats for me tonight.

Top Super-Flex Play – Luis Patino

This is not a super safe play by any means, but anytime we get a pitcher this cheap we have to consider him. There are a slew of batters priced above $5,000 on this slate, so locking in someone that should at least be throwing four innings is tough to avoid. He’s pitched well in the minors this season, and was once a very highly touted prospect. It’s a solid match-up against the Kansas City Royals offense, and I think he can easily smash value tonight. It doesn’t come without risk, but I’m all for taking the savings with our second pitcher on Thursday night.
