MLB DFS 9/26/18 – Bobby’s Batters (Notes)

MLB BATTER UP September 26th, 2018
  •  This PREMIUM article features top offensive batters per position
  • This includes value plays, upside plays, and contrarian plays
  • Strategic game theory on why we are selecting these batters
  • Advice on the best “Game Stacks” of the day
  • The same players in these articles are the same players you can find in the core of our lineups!

Top Stacks – One of the most important concepts to understand in DFS MLB.  Watch our daily YouTube live podcast for more information on this understanding/mindset.  Keep in mind it is ok to stack 4 guys or 3 from the same team.  This mathematically increases your chances of “cashing” in tournaments.  It isn’t as necessary to stack in cash games (double ups/heads up).  Below is our rankings starting from the best at number 1.

    1. Athletics (-182) –  The Athletics are in a race for home-field advantage in the wild-card game and that’s going to play a huge narrative into this slate leading up to the end of the MLB season.  These are just going to be some quick notes/stats on the players I’m on today as we had some technical difficulty getting on to the new site now that we have officially made the switch.  Felix Hernandez is in the twilight of the worst season of his career where his advanced analytics and metrics have plummeted across all categories this year.  His xFIP is up around .6 points to 4.62 and his ERA is justifiably represented in a 5.05 FIP.  Hernandez’s SIERA is up over 4.6 and his hard contact allowed is over 10% higher than his career average.  The Athletics have proved to be one of the most powerful teams in the MLB in terms of ISO and I am not worried about the ballpark factor in this game.  I am slightly concerned by the fact they are underdogs here but an 8.5 total in this park is a good sign runs will be scored and I believe that will come from the A’s side of things.  Keep in mind that everyone at Karma, including myself, and others in the DFS industry have considerably withdrawn their bankroll exposure to MLB.  I am 150% invested in football this time of year in addition to the narrative’s of teams “giving up” and Vegas projections histrocially being more volatile (good for GPP’s).  With all that being said, play light these last couple days and load up for Sunday Funday!
          1. Favorite One-Off: Matt Chapman (146 wRC+ leads the Athletics against RHP in 2018)
          2. Best Bet for a home run: Khris Davis (.316 ISO leads the Athletics against RHP in 2018)

Bobby’s LOW-OWNED BOMB’S PER POSITION (ISO splits)
C: Yasmani Grandal (.236 )
1B:  Joey Gallo (.347 )
2B: Travis Shaw (.280 )
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera (.223 )
3B: Mike Moustakas (.230 )
OF1: Aaron Judge (.256 )
OF2: Khris Davis (.308 )
OF3: Pablo Reyes (.529
Good luck everyone let’s hit this slate out of the park!
