MLB DFS 9/3/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 9/3/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here.

Pitcher

Max Scherzer is on the mound again and looking like the top option as well! Washington lost their studs at the trade deadline but somehow have still been putting up some decent numbers. I don’t expect that to continue against Mad Max though. Max owns a 31% strikeout rate this year and his hard contact rate sits at barely 32%. Don’t overthink this one and lock him in as your SP1! Now for your SP2, there are quite a few different routes you can go. Shohei Ohtani is coming off a very bad performance against Detroit. Overall this year, he has been pitching extremely well. He owns a 40% strikeout rate against this current Houston team. I really hope some people dig into this too much and don’t play him. A rebound game is in the cards here and I really like him tonight. If you’re looking to save a bit, Edward Cabrera is a solid value play and I also don’t mind taking a shot on Adam Wainwright against the Cubs.

Batters

Julio Rodriguez has been a lot of fun to watch and roster this year. I don’t see how he doesn’t get ROTY. He gets a solid matchup against Xzavion Curry and the Guardians tonight. Julio should be leading off here and is getting hard contact half of the time at the plate. He is expensive but is completly warranted for the upside he has. My next building block ill be a cheaper play as we will need some vlaue if spending up on both Pitchers. Kesto Hiura has been playing stella as of late and should be batting cleanup tonight. I love the matchup against Madison Bumgarner and Arizona not to mention how hitter friendly their ballpark is. He has nearly 50% hard contact rate and we all know how much of a dumpster fire Madison is. Overall, I think the Brewers are a solid five man stack tonight as well!
