MLB Jock MKT Play (9/14/22)

Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

9/14/22 Top Play

Anthony Santander, Baltimore Orioles

Projected Rank: 30th

Example: If I buy 1 share of Mountcastle at $9.00 and he finishes 14th in this field, I make my $9.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $16.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $8.00). It’s that simple.

Yesterday I wrote up Ryan Mountcastle, and he promptly responded with a huge fantasy day including a homerun. I’m going right back to the well with the Orioles tonight, matched up against Patrick Corbin. Corbin is capable of a quality start here and there, but this has been one of the best pitchers to attack with batters in all of DFS this season. He’s been terrible, striking out just 18% of batters faced and allowing above average hits and power to right-handed batters. As I pointed out yesterday, typically the big names like Adley Rutschman and Cedric Mullins command the attention when targeting the Orioles. We can find value with some of the other hitters in the lineup, tonight that includes Santander. He actually has been the best hitter on Baltimore against lefty pitching — sporting a .383 wOBA and .248 ISO in the split. He should be batting second, and should be much higher in the pre-ranking in my opinion. He also owns a .423 wOBA vs sinkers — Corbin’s most-used pitch. Overall, Baltimore once again has a team total near five runs and they will be a main target for me on Wednesday.
