Slate Thoughts:

Week 10

Quarterback

  • Sam Howell is playing in one of the best games on the slate this weekend. The UNC/Wake Forest game has a 77 o/u right now, which is tops on the slate.  As good as Wake has been on offense, they are just as bad on the defensive side.  Howell is averaging 275 pass yards per game, and over 70 rypg.  He has ran for over 100 yards in 2 of his last 3 games.
  • Malik Willis is one of the top quarterback prospects in college football this year.  He is a massive threat running the ball, running for over 140 yards twice this season.  Ole Miss allow 250 pass yards per game, and over 180 rush yards per game.  This matchup sets up great for Willis’s skill set.  I expect Liberty to be playing from behind in this one, leading to a great game script for Malik.
Others to consider: S. Hartman (WF); S. Clifford (PSU); CJ Stroud (OSU); C. Morris (TCU)- if confirmed starting

Running Back

  • Abram Smith is starting to take over this Baylor backfield averaging 23 rush attempts per game over his last two.  He had been in a fairly even split with Ebner throughout the year, however, due to how well Smith is running the ball, they have started to give him more carries.  TCU are one of the worst teams in the nation in defending the run, allowing 205 rush yards per game, which would leave us to believe that Baylor is going to run early and often in this one.  Smith is averaging 7.2 ypc this year, and has 11 touchdowns.  That is great vs. a defense that is giving up nearly 6 ypc.  One of the top RB plays on the slate.
  • A guy that has been receiving insane volume is Jaylen Warren of Oklahoma State.  Warren has been the lead back for this OK State team from week 3 on.  He is averaging nearly 30 rush attempts per game over that span.  He only played a half last week, due to the beat down they handed Kansas.  For some reason, DK dropped his price considerably, which needs to be taken advantage of.  He is priced at only 6.4k.  West Virginia is not the greatest matchup for RB’s, however, due to his volume in the running game and his ability to get involved in the passing game, he makes for an incredible play at such a low price.
Others to consider: Z. Evans (TCU)- if healthy; M. Irving (MINN); K. Walker (MSU); T. Henderson (OSU)

Wide Receiver

  • David Bell once again comes in priced below 8k.  Bell receives a massive volume of targets in this Purdue passing game, and they are facing a MSU secondary who are allow over 280 pass yards per game.  Bell is the top target in this offense, and along with Milton Wright, they should see a ton of targets in this game.  I like both of them in all formats.
  • Josh Downs, like Bell, is in an incredible spot to put up massive numbers.  Downs has been Howell’s favorite target this year, and by a wide margin.  On Draftkings where we get a full ppr, Downs could break the slate this weekend, with the amount of looks he should get.  Downs has had 8+ receptions and double digit targets in every game this year.  I do find that it will be hard to play both Bell and Downs in the same lineup, that is if you’re paying up at QB, so you will need to make a decision on which one you want in your main lineup .  I personally am leaning towards Downs.
Others to consider: C. Olave (OSU); J. Roberson (WF); R. Rice (SMU); D. Gray (SMU); M. Foster (MSU)- if Nailor is out
