Joey’s Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown

Hello DFS grinders and welcome back to another addition of my Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown article. We have a great NFC East battle  featuring Washington at Philly. With a 45 point game total and the Eagles a 5.5 favorite this game should shape up to be a great game.

Studs/MVP Candidates

Zach Ertz: Ertz has been Wentz’ top play maker all season. Not much has changed since Tate has joined the team. Redskins have struggled against TEs and with Ertz’ elite talent I would expect him to feast this game and continue his hot streak.

Carson Wentz: QBs are always in play and he’s coming off 2 rough games so he should be in store for a nice bounce back game. The two areas on the Redskins defense that are exploitable the Eagles have 2 of the best at that position (Ertz/Tate). He had a good chance at being the top scoring player on FD.

Josh Adams: Im extremely excited they finally game this man the chance to shine. He has potential to be one of the best backs in the league. He’s playing a poor run defense that he should be able to take advantage of this nice matchup here tonight.

Colt McCoy: If we compare what McCoy did against Dallas with no practices to what Brees put up I actually get a lot more faith in him. He finally has a full week to practice and get first team reps. Against a completely injured secondary I have no problem rostering him tonight and I love him for the Monday-Thursday slate as the cheapest QB.

Middle Tier

Jordan Reed: I want to attack the Eagles from the outside but Reed has been the top target on this team whenever he is healthy. He is one of the top TEs in the league and these safeties are not good to cover him.

Jamison Crowder: The Redskins are getting one of their top WRs back from injury tonight. With a banged up Eagles secondary and the track record for Crowder in the past he is a great stack option with McCoy.

Golden Tate: I really want to target the slot against the Redskins. Ever since they traded Kendell Fuller to the Chiefs in the offseason it seems like they are just getting exposed in the middle of the field. Tate is one of the best slot WRs in the league so he’s ready to kill this matchup. Nelson Agholor also runs a fair amount of routes in the slot, he’s not as good of a WR as Tate but he could have a sneaky good game.

Defense/Kicker

Both of these defenses are above average. I’m not a huge fan of playing defenses here but they are definitely playable. If you were looking to playing defenses I would wait for Thursday’s game. Both defenses are better against worse offenses and historically Thursday night games are lower scoring.

Kickers are in play here they are a nice value play in what could be a decently high scoring game. Kickers are always in play for me more on DK than FD just because of how pricing is for kickers between the sites.

Cheap Tier

Darren Sproles: Hes back from injury and he should be able to get right back into his role as the pass catching back. Week 1 he was heavily involved in their game plan and if he’s as involved as he was then he could see a high target share for a running back. At only 2k he could reach value from catches alone.

Dallas Goedert: When he’s on the field the opposite team has much more to worry about than a back up TE but he’s seen a similar role to what Trey Burton did last year. At only 1k he has the highest TD upside out of the cheap punts.
