Joey’s Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown Week 5

What’s up DFS Grinders to another edition of my Monday Night Football Showdown Throwdown article.

Vegas Lines

The 49ers are 4.5 point favorites at home against the Browns with a 47.5 point game total.

MVP

I’m taking the under on this game so with it being low scoring the MVP is tougher. Touchdowns are king, you can also fade the QBs in MVP to get leg up on the competition.

Jimmy G: When you are able to have your favorite MVP not be the highest salary it’s always a plus at lower ownership. Jimmy has a chance to go off tonight against the banged-up Brown secondary. He just needs to have his Oline play at the top of their game to contain the Browns pass rush. If that happens Jimmy will easily be the highest scoring player on the slate. He is getting Tevin Coleman back which will just give him another weapon to throw to as well as getting the confidence back of a fully healthy Pettis off the bye week. The main concern with the is positive game script leading to fewer passes but if the game stays close as it is projected to or if the 49ers are losing Jimmy G will be the highest scoring player on the slate.

Baker Mayfield: He’s a good start to stacking the Browns passing attack especially if they get down early. I love stacking the Browns passing attack in a tournament. It’s gives you a nice ceiling from a negative game script approach.

Odell: The stats don’t lie he loves primetime. In a negative game script Baker will look for his favorite target to dig them out of a hole to come back in this game. He’s not my favorite play but in 9 games in primetime OBJ has 57 catches over 900 yards and 8 TDs. Tough to over look those stats, he loves the spotlight on him. I prefer going Landry as a one off in this offense but I love OBJ in a game theory negative game script stack.

Fade: Nick Chubb, he’s coming off a ceiling game of 165 rushing yards and 3 TDs. He’s now facing a much better defense who has not allowed a rushing TD all season. Chubb should get game scripted out of this game.

Mid Tier

The 49ers have been way too committed to the running game which has lead to some low scoring games an improved defense has helped as well. The problem is Coleman is expected to play which is going to mess everything up.

Jarvis Landry: He’s coming off a big game where he outshined OBJ, people will think that was an outlier but Landry is in a great spot to do it again here. SF has struggled against slot WRs and Landry has seen 7 targets or more every game this season. I’m riding the wave of success for Landry tonight.

George Kittle: What’s he doing in the mid Tier you may ask? On FD he is priced at $11.0k which is 7th highest salary, which is absurd taking into account his ceiling. (Which is all that really matters in single game) Kittle has yet to find the end zone this season mainly due to 2 TDs getting called back in the TB game and red zone usage being soaked up by Wilson. This is the perfect buy low spot for him tonight. Plus what is the old saying: TEs vs the Browns!

Jeff Wilson: You can say all you want that Wilson’s touch to touchdown ratio is unsustainable but it’s the value of those touches that makes them actually very sustainable. Brieda does all the work and then Wilson gets all the glory scoring the red zone TD. He’s top 5 in touches and touchdowns inside the 10, he’s a great play especially on FD, where touchdowns are just as important as volume. His role won’t change much with Coleman coming back and people will be scared to play him just because of that but I’m not.

Cheap Tier

Dante Pettis: The time has finally come for the breakout Pettis game. He’s the best WR on the team and is finally starting to see an increased snap count and target share. You heard it first break the slate Pettis against a injured Cleveland secondary. Don’t be a person who waits and see get in on the breakout game while you can.

Props

Props are what I’m known for at Karma and I’ve made my most money in the Fantasy industry playing props. It’s a safer use of your money playing “cash” type props than playing 50/50s on FD/DK for single game especially. Normally I like to play some safe props than play some GPPs on FD/DK.
