NFL DFS Week 16 – Ben’s Building Blocks for Christmas Day

What’s up everyone and welcome to Ben’s Building Blocks! If you’ve never read my content before, welcome. To those that have, welcome back. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports during NFL season. This article is designed for me to highlight the top plays of the week, and my overall player pool for the main slate. Obviously, things can change rapidly in the NFL with injury news on the weekends, so I would be sure to subscribe to our premium package for access to my Final Thoughts cheat sheet, our premium discord channel and my core plays. Our Core Plays product gives you the ability to tail all of our analysts in your contests each week. We do the work for you, and you simply plug and play with our premium Core Plays. With that being said, let’s hop into the three game Christmas Day slate…

Top Plays

Tua Tagovailoa + Tyreek Hill

Miami vs Green Bay kicks off the Christmas Day NFL action — and I’ll be looking to build my main team around the Miami Dolphins. Typically, we view this Green Bay defense as a run-funnel spot but with limited options on a three game slate I want to attack the Miami passing game. We know that Tua can pop-off in any match-up that his two receivers are healthy, and that will be the case on Christmas Day. He’s been struggling as of late when it comes to fantasy output, but he’s had a string of tough road games against quality defensive teams. It’s going to be hot in Miami on Sunday, and this is a spot for Tua to heat back up as well. Tyreek needs to introduction, his role continues to be one of the best in football and he clearly has the highest ceiling on this small slate. You can always pivot to Waddle in GPPs, but Hill has seen over 33% of the Ait Yards and Targets for the Dolphins this season and is the top overall play on this slate for me.

Latavius Murray

Murray will likely be the highest-owned running back on Sunday, and will be tough to avoid if looking to play cash game contests. Los Angeles will continue to struggle defensively to close out the year — they’re banged up on defense and Aaron Donald was ruled out for the remainder of their schedule earlier this week. Murray has topped 20 touches in two of his last three games, and will be the feature back again for the Broncos who are getting Russell Wilson back at QB this week. Marlon Mack has stepped into a secondary role, but Murray is coming off a game in which he saw 24 carries so that 20+ touch trend will likely continue. Those 24 carries came with a near 65% snap-rate. He is still listed as Questionable to play, so monitor his status up until 90 minutes before their game. If for some reason he’s ruled out, Mack would become the top value play on the slate. That being said, I do expect him to suit and and be a high-owned option as a three point favorite.

Low-Owned Pivot

Christian Watson

Watson correlates well with our Dolphins stack, and I expect Aaron Jones to be the popular option from the Packers on Sunday. Watson is coming off a mediocre game, but was a fixture in the red-zone against the Rams and missed the opportunity from a wide-open TD from Rodgers late in the game. He isn’t going to keep scoring touchdowns like he has, but the Dolphins secondary is definitely beatable and there aren’t any weather concerns in this game. Green Bay is just behind the Buccaneers with a 23 point team total — and Watson will be someone I’m overweight on this Sunday if he’s projected to come in low-owned around lock.
