What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

Top Player

Gabriel Davis

Projected Rank: 8th

Jock MKT Projection: 12.74 Fantasy Points

We are all excited for the first NFL game of the season, but I’m most excited about the opportunity to play Gabe Davis. This is expected to be a high-scoring affair, coming in with a 52.5 O/U and that makes sense due to both teams throwing much higher than the average rate last season. Buffalo in particular has shown they will continue to throw even if they jump out to a lead, and that in turn should cause the Rams to keep their foot on the gas as well. Overall, Davis could end up the highest scorer in this game…it’s not like we haven’t seen a ceiling game from him before. This will be Buffalo’s first game since the 2021 playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs — in which Davis went for over 200 yards and four touchdowns. I’m not saying he’s going to pop like that on Thursday night, but he looks primed for a breakout season. Last year he was essentially a part-time player, logging a 50% snap rate for the season. During the 2022 preseason, he played 100% of the first team snaps. He’s going to be moving into a full-time role, while the near 200 targets from Cole Beasley and Manny Sanders exit the lineup. He has a huge ceiling if this game turns into the shootout Vegas expects, and I want to buy into the Davis breakout early this season.

Value Player

Darrell Henderson

Projected Rank: 12th

Jock MKT Projection: 8.69

Speaking of buying into players early, Darrell Henderson is someone I want to buy into early this season. For starters, I don’t think we will see a full version of Cam Akers in 2022. That’s not to say he is going to miss time, but I don’t think he is going to look like the Akers of old after returning from his Achilles injury so quickly. It typically takes multiple years for players to return to form after an injury of that magnitude, especially an NFL running back. This should push touches to Henderson, and I think it’s more likely we see close to a 50/50 split to start the year than it is to see Akers in a workhorse role. If that’s the case and it’s a near even split timeshare, Henderson is undervalued. He caught 30 balls in 10 games last year, and feels like a threat to steal goal-line touches as well. Overall, I think Hendo is going to be on the field as much as Akers on Thursday night yet he’s way lower in the pre-ranking. If he happens to find the end zone, he could really provide some profit and I doubt he will be a heavy target vs the Bills.
