What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

Top Player

Josh Palmer

Projected Rank: 8th

Jock MKT Projection: 11.44 Fantasy Points

Thursday Night Football awards us with Week 2’s highest O/U, 54 points, and an expected shootout between division rivals. Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert are the obvious top purchases on Thursday, but they are first and second in the pre-ranking and you’re going to have to spend up to get them. Spending so much on a player leaves little to no room for error, so I prefer to buy in the mid-tier and value-tier. Palmer didn’t have a great game in Week 1, but he was tied for first on the team in targets. He also played more than we previously expected, and now Keenan Allen is out. Last season, Palmer averaged almost 20 fantasy points per game in games without Allen or Mike Williams. I’m not afraid of this Chiefs secondary and they are already down one of their best corners. I do think this game shoots out, and my bet is on Palmer to have a big game.

Value Player

Mecole Hardman

Projected Rank: 11th

Jock MKT Projection: 10.11 Fantasy Points

I think Hardman could have a huge game tonight, and I’m certainly buying into him at this price. Hardman is typically more boom/bust as a player, so it makes sense to target him in these single game markets banking on him erupting. His Week 1 usage was encouraging, he was running a more diverse route tree than what they’ve had him do in the past and they’re going to need that with Tyreek Hill gone. He also just missed connecting with Mahomes on a few deep shots, and was top-five in unrealized Air Yards in Week 1 per Pro Football Focus. His six targets in Week 1 is solid, and I think he will continue to be used more as we progress throughout the season. He has the highest ceiling of anyone else in this range and is a clear top target on Thursday.
