What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

Week 5 Results

Kyler Murray

Highest Potential Bid: $10

Break-Even Point: 12

Murray struggled with an injury last week, limiting what he was able to do on the field. He scored only 15.68 fantasy points, ranking 49th on the slate. Ultimately, he ended up being worth $3.30, losing $6.70 per share at our max bid.

Justin Jefferson

Highest Potential Bid: $7.50

Break-Even Point: 20

Jefferson performed extremely well last weekend, but his ceiling was capped without finding the end zone. He ranked 28th on the slate, scoring 22.4 fantasy points. We’d have lost $1.50 per share at our max bid.

It was a rough week, as we’d have lost $8.20 per equal shares of Murray and Jefferson last weekend. With that being said, Murray’s IPO price was only $9.01 while Jefferson’s was $6.77, limiting how much we would’ve lost if purchasing them then.

Week 5 Buys

Patrick Mahomes

Highest Potential Bid: $10

Break-Even Point: 12

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Mahomes recommendations. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $10 per share for Mahomes. He needs to finish 12th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Mahomes at $10 and he finishes 12th in this field, I make my $10 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $15). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $9). It’s that simple.

Quarterbacks struggled last week, although Justin Herbert, Tom Brady, and Josh Allen all finished in the top-4. With that being said, the next highest quarterback (Davis Mills) finished 16th. Wide receivers continued to dominate, while a few running backs found their way into the top-10.

Mahomes is coming off of a bad game in prime time, although he’s been one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Through 5 games, he’s recorded 1,490 yards with 16 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Mahomes also boasts a rushing floor with 153 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground.

The key to this game is his matchup against the Washington Football Team. They’re allowing 293.4 passing yards per game with 8.7 adjusted yards per attempt. Washington also ranks second-last in the NFL, allowing 14 passing touchdowns through only 5 games.

The Football Team blitz’s at the third-highest rate in the NFL, forcing their defenders to play one-on-one. It’s unsurprisingly that they’ve allowed the most air yards (998) in the league by a wide margin this season. Mahomes features arguably the best arm in the NFL, and he’s a player that should be able to take advantage of this matchup.

The Kansas City Chiefs are currently -7 point favorites in a game set at 54.5 points. They boast the highest implied team total on the slate. Furthermore, this is a must-win game for Kansas City, suggesting they won’t take their foot off the gas at any point in time. Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are the clear top options on this slate, and I side slightly with the former. I’d be willing to buy whichever is cheaper, though.

Tyreek Hill

Highest Potential Bid: $8.50

Break-Even Point: 16

Hill’s been a boom or bust option for the Kansas City Chiefs this season. He boasts 37 receptions for 516 yards and 4 touchdowns on 51 targets this season. With that being said, he recorded 22 receptions for 383 yards and 4 touchdowns in only 2 of his 5 games. Hill’s posted single-digit fantasy points in 2 of his 5 contests, although he also features games with 50.6 and 40.1 fantasy points.

Hill gets an elite matchup against Washington, who we outlined as struggled with air yards in the Mahomes recommendation. He leads Kansas City with 39.6% of their team’s air yards in 2021. He also boasts a 10.9 aDOT. Hill owns elite speed that can get on top of any defense, and he’ll be a threat from anywhere on this field in this matchup.

He’s the focal point of a relatively spread-out red zone offense for the Chiefs. Overall, he’s turned a team-high 6 red zone targets into 4 receptions for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hill also scored on his only target inside-the-10.

The speedy Kansas City receiver boasts the potential to take the top off of any defense in the NFL. He gets an elite matchup against Washington, who’s struggled with air yards throughout the season. Hill could lead the entire slate in scoring, and he’s my favorite receiver on a loaded slate this weekend.
