What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for this week.

Week 8 Results

Trevor Lawrence

Highest Potential Bid: $6.50

Break-Even Point: 25

Lawrence struggled in a great matchup against the Seattle Seahawks last week. He posted only 13.62 fantasy points, finishing 52nd in the market. Each of his shares ended worth $3.00, losing $3.50 per share.

Courtland Sutton

Highest Potential Bid: $5.50

Break-Even Point: 31

Sutton was another bust in a matchup designed for his skillset. He ended with 6 fantasy points against the Washington Football Team. Sutton ranked 90th on the market. He finished worth $1, losing $4.50 per share.

After a massive week with Ja’Marr Chase, we would’ve listed $8 per equal share of Lawrence and Sutton last week. Somewhat luckily, Lawrence and Sutton ended the IPO at $5.05 and $4.50, respectively. If purchased in the IPO, we’d only have lost $5.05 per equal shares of this pair.

Week 9 Buys

Justin Jefferson

Highest Potential Bid: $5.50

Break-Even Point: 31

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Jefferson recommendations. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $5.50 per share for Jefferson. He needs to finish 31st in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Jefferson at $5.50 and he finishes 31st in this field, I make my $5.50 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $19.50). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $4.50). It’s that simple.

Quarterbacks and wide receivers took over the top-10 in the market last week. A.J. Brown led the way with 4 other receivers in the top-10. There were also 4 quarterbacks in that group with Josh Allen leading the way and Mike White finishing 10th. Michael Carter was the only running back, finishing second overall.

Jefferson’s performed well throughout his sophomore season. Through 7 games, he’s posted 43 receptions for 563 yards and 3 touchdowns on 63 targets. He’s posted 19+ fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 games.

Jefferson gets a great matchup against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend. They’re allowing a league-high 296.1 passing yards per game this season. Baltimore’s also giving up 8.2 adjusted yards per attempt in 2021. Furthermore, they’ve given up 12 passing touchdowns with a 4.5% passing touchdown rate.

The key to this play is that the Ravens have given up a league-high 1,167 yards after the catch this season. Jefferson leads Minnesota’s receiver group with 4.9 yards after the catch per reception. This is slightly above what’s expected from him, as well.

Jefferson’s coming off of a pair of bad game, scoring only 17.1 fantasy points over his last 2 games. Prior to that, he averaged 22.8 fantasy points per game over his last 4 games. As we know from his rookie season, Jefferson boasts slate-breaking upside. He’s going overlooked in a great matchup because of his struggles last weekend, but now is the perfect time to invest in his talent.

Marquise Brown

Highest Potential Bid: $4.75

Break-Even Point: 36

Brown’s enjoying a complete breakout in the 2021 season. He’s posted 37 receptions for 566 yards and 6 touchdowns through 7 games. He’s scored 19+ fantasy points in 3 of his last 4 games, including a 36.5 fantasy point performance.

Brown gets an interesting matchup against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. They’re only allowing 246.1 passing yards per game and 7.5 adjusted yards per attempt. Minnesota’s also given up only 9 passing touchdowns with a 3.7% passing touchdown rate. The Vikings have only allowed 919 air yards in 2021, although they’ve struggled a bit, allowing 965 yards after the catch thus far.

Brown’s recorded 37.2% of Baltimore’s air yards this season. He ranks fourth in the NFL with a 16 aDOT. Brown’s also averaging 4.8 yards after the catch per reception. He’ll have opportunities down the field and opportunities to make defenders miss throughout this game.

Brown’s a player that consistently goes overlooked, as he’s perceived as a boom or bust option. That hasn’t been the case this season, though, and he’s playing in one of the top projected offense on this slate. Brown is another player that boasts the upside to break the slate, and we have two chances at finding a top-10 player this weekend.
