Quarterbacks:

QB1: Lamar Jackson will always be a top option whenever he is on the slate. As stated last week, only him and Patrick Mahomes have slate breaking upside when it comes to the QB spot. I didn’t want to list both in the chart, but I prefer Jackson over Mahomes this week. I also want to throw in Dak Prescott and Josh Allen into the mix here. Allen was my “cover boy” last week and he popped off and was the second highest QB on the slate, behind Aaron Rodgers. This week, I would rank these 4 QBs as such: Jackson, Mahomes, Allen, Prescott. I would be comfortable using any of these guys in cash games. They all have great floors and pretty solid ceilings, and when you pair that with their respective matchups, I like any of them for cash games.

QB2/Value/GPP: There are a ton of other QBs I love that can exceed pt/$ value, such as Kyler Murray, Jared Goff, Mitchell Trubisky, and Carson Wentz.  Murray is ranked #1 for me in this range, because he gets a stellar matchup vs the “Football Team” to add on to his great start vs the 49ers. With Hopkins by his side and a healthy Kenyan Drake in the backfield, Murray has a ton of lethal weapons when you add his rushing upside to the mix. I think this game script will be favorable to him if Washington can keep it close, but his rushing attempts/upside always provides a safe floor nonetheless. This Eagles/Rams game has a chance at being a shootout, the Eagles get Miles Sanders back which should help their overall game flow and play, but might take away from Wentz’s upside this week. The Rams had a decent showing vs the Cowboys but if this game script is in favor of Wentz, he can definitely be one of the higher scoring QBs in this range. I wouldn’t mind using the Rams offense either, the Eagles completely let Haskins walk all over them in the second half and the defense looked winded.

Running Backs:

Christian McCaffrey will always be a top option alike Lamar on any slate, because he’s basically matchup proof, but he touches 10.5k on FanDuel which is $500 more than last week. He outpaced all RBs last week and still didn’t get the same usage as he did last year to start. I expect them to get him more looks in the passing game, as he only got 4 targets and 3 receptions. He gets a TB defense that looked just “meh” last week, and CMC is always matchup proof. With this price tag comes the need for value. Jonathan Taylor absolutely stands out as the highest owned RB this week and I think that he will be in most of my lineups as well. Mack went down with a serious injury and Taylor will be stepping into a starting role for the future.

If you choose to fade CMC, I would really want two solid mid tier RBs, to pair with Taylor. I’m looking to Zeke Elliott and Kenyan Drake. Elliott had an amazing showing as always vs the Rams, and now he gets the Atlanta Falcons defense who got torched by the Seattle RBs last week. Elliott will likely be locked in all my lineups this week, I just love his upside and his floor, especially in this matchup. Drake has a great matchup vs the “Football Team”. This could be a positive game script for him if they go up early, and he has to be considered on FanDuel especially to be a great value play at under 7k.

Wide Receivers:

Obviously there are a ton of WRs you can play, but I’ll go over my top 5 this week, 2 top tier, 2 mid tier and one low owned GPP play.

Top Tier-

Davante Adams- This man looked like he was on a MISSION in week 1. He was running crisp routes and looked very sharp, and it looks like he is primed to have an amazing season. He gets a dream matchup vs these Detroit Lions who absolutely fell apart vs the Bears and let Mitchell Trubisky walk all over their secondary in the second half. I expect Rodgers and Adams to have a field day.

DeAndre Hopkins- I love the idea of a Murray/Hopkins/Drake 3 man stack here. This should be a great game for Arizona to add onto their great win over the 49ers last week. Hopkins saw 16 targets last week and caught a whopping 14 of them.

Mid Tier-

Robert Woods- I liked him over Kupp last week for the single game slate, and I think he is back to being the guy in LA. He gets a porous Eagles DEF and that secondary was very inconsistent last week vs WAS.

Keenan Allen- Personally one of my favorites in this price range. 8 targets but only 4 catches. I think he’ll have to have a big game for LAC to have any chance at staying in this game. If they are coming from behind he’ll have plenty of opportunities as well to add onto his statline.

Low owned GPP Play-

Michael Gallup- Gallup had only 5 targets last week as the Cowboys added CeeDee Lamb and also still have Amari Cooper. I doubt that his volume will increase much but I can see 7-8 targets in this game with the pace of this matchup! I think his price is very fair.

That’ll be it for me for the second ever NFL DFS Game Theory! We went over QB, RB, and WR, and I included my game stacks in the table above. Good luck this weekend!
