Dave’s Drivers to Watch – NASCAR DFS – All-Star Race

Wednesday night short track racing for $1 million. The Cup series goes to Bristol for the first time for their All-Star race. Only a certain amount of drivers have qualified for this race by winning a race between now and the last All-Star race or being a past winner of the race itself. Drivers can also race their way into the field through the Open which will be held before the All Star race on Wednesday. Each segment winner and the fan vote get into the All Star race. We will have a total of 20 drivers in the race so expect large field tournaments to have a bunch of ties and even more so on Fanduel because they won’t add the Open qualifiers. I treat this race as a fun tournament driven slate and anyone playing should to. Experiment in small $ tournaments like the $.25 or $3 20 max on draftkings and work on your tournament building skills for a small investment. The reason I treat this as a gpp slate is because the winner gets $1 million and the rest of the field goes home empty handed. These drivers will bump their way through the field at no cost, other then to their owners, to try to get that prize. There is a strategy especially on Draftkings like I discussed in our Discord earlier today. After Wednesday then we get back to business with points races in Texas so make sure to come back for more content on those this weekend.

Kyle Busch (DK $9,100 FD $12,500)

Now don’t go closing your computer when you see his name. I know he just burned us and a bunch of other people this past weekend and frankly almost all season. However, you want to know one place where he didn’t burn the people who used him and made a bunch of subs at DFS Karma money this season? It was Bristol. Bristol is Kyle Busch territory and who better to turn to then Kyle Busch in a spot where he just tanked a bunch of lineups and people may not feel so great using him. I love Kyle Busch on Wednesday night as he has the demeanor that it takes to go out and win this thing. He was 1st in green flag speed here back in May, led over 100 laps and finished fourth. We aren’t concerned too much about dom points so him starting 10th only sweetens the pot more as he has floor and place differential upside.

Erik Jones (DK $7,200 FD $9,000)

Erik Jones, another one of the drivers who likes to toy with our emotions and sweats. If you remember, Jones was also on that winning lineup back in May here at Bristol. On Wednesday night, he starts 16th and should be a very chalky play. Jones was 8th in green flag speed and finished 5th here in May. The floor of course is the best part of Erik Jones, especially on Fanduel where they won’t be adding anymore drivers to the field. Plug, play, close your eyes and move on.

Denny Hamlin (DK $10,100 FD $13,000)

Denny is going to be another popular play. He starts 15th and the floor is amazing for him. Hamlin won here in August of last year in the night race and led 131 laps here in May. Hamlin has been one of the best cars this season along with Harvick and definitely could see him competing for the win at the end and see him having no issues moving someone out of the way to collect that check, even if its DiBenedetto again if he makes it into the race from the Open. I also think Hamlin makes a great play on SuperDraft at the Champions spot.

Joey Logano (DK $9,400 FD $11,000)

If you remember that finish in May you remember Chase and Logano basically wrecking at the end and giving the win to Brad Keselowski. I think Joey or Chase are set up to be great plays starting 12th and 13th respectively. I give the edge to Joey Logano over Chase because I like Joey’s aggressive, I don’t care what anyone thinks of me just get out of my way attitude. We have never seen an All Star race at Bristol and under the lights on a Wednesday night we could see a lot of fireworks and beating and banging. Joey won’t be afraid to use the nose of his car to move someone out of the way and the hope would be he could cross the finish line before they get back to repay the favor.
