Luke’s List – NASCAR DFS – 2021 Daytona 500

Hello everyone! I’m Luke, part of the brother duo recently brought on to assist in maintaining DFS Karma’s spot as the #1 source for NASCAR DFS information, core plays, and props. I will be taking over the weekly Cup article moving forward and I hope you enjoy it. Make sure you are subscribed to either our NASCAR or MVP subscription so you can get access to our Final Thoughts, all our Core Plays for DraftKings, FanDuel, and SuperDraft, as well as our Prop Plays for MonkeyKnifeFight and PrizePicks! Remember, our NASCAR Premium content extends to ALL series (Trucks, Xfinity, Cup).

Here is my list of drivers I’m looking at for today’s big race.

Denny Hamlin (DK $10,400 FD $14,000)

Hamlin has won the last 2 Daytona 500s and is looking to win his 3rd in a row today. He
offers a lot of place differential starting 25th which gives him more upside than usual. Hamlin
will probably be one of the highest owned drivers today, so he looks like a solid option for
both cash games and tournaments.

Ryan Blaney (DK $10,000 FD $13,300)

Blaney has won 2 of the last 5 superspeedway races, so he knows how to put himself in a
position to be there at the end and have a shot at winning. While he might not offer as much
place differential as some of the other drivers, Blaney still has potential to move up and finish
higher than his 14th starting spot. The Penske Fords are always very fast at the
superspeedways, so he has potential to lead laps and has great teammates to work with.

Erik Jones (DK $7,200 FD $6,000)

Jones is now driving the #43 car for Richard Petty Motorsports, but they had a lot of success
at the superspeedways in the past, so he has the potential to finish well. He offers a lot of
place differential starting 31st which makes him a safe option that has plenty of upside as
well. Jones has put up strong finishes at superspeedways in the past, so he’ll probably be
one of the highest owned drivers in tournaments, so it makes sense to be underweight on
him in gpps.

Chris Buescher (DK $6,900 FD $7,300)

Buescher has finished top 10 in 3 of the last 4 superspeedway races, so he knows how to
put himself in a position to find success at these tracks. He’ll start 22nd, so he offers plenty
of place differential and upside to pay off in tournaments. If he was starting a little farther
back in the field, I would consider him for cash games.

Austin Cindric (DK $6,100 FD $6,200)

It’s hard for Cindric to kill you starting 39th in a 40 car field. He just won the Xfinity Series
race yesterday which could give him some more confidence for today’s race. Cindric will be
driving the #33 car for Team Penske, so he has some great teammates to work with
throughout the race. The place differential he offers starting 39th is massive, so it’s hard not
to like Cindric today.

Anthony Alfredo (DK $5,200 FD $4,500)

While Kaz Grala is a great option starting 40th, we’re gonna roll with Alfredo here. The lack of
experience at the superspeedways is concerning, but he offers a ton of place differential starting
36th. He ran well in his Xfinity Series starts last season at the superspeedways, so that gives us
some confidence that he can perform well.
