Bales’ Premium PrizePicks – MLB Player Props 4/1/19

This is an interesting spot for Miguel Cabrera. He’s playing in a hitter friendly stadium and hitting third in the Detroit Tigers lineup. That’s essentially where the plus’ end for him. Cabrera is hitting only .133 on the season, and Detroit’s offense is one of the worst in the MLB. That will limit his potential run and RBI opportunities. He also owns a -0.022 wOBA differential against right-handed pitching. Cabrera gets a tough matchup against Domingo German, who held right-handed batters to a .227 average with a .409 slugging percentage and a .312 wOBA last season. It isn’t out of the realm of possibilities that Cabrera records a hit in this game, but he can record a hit and RBI while still hitting the under. He simply may not see the opportunities necessarily to comfortably project the over.

Trevor Story is another player that comes with some risk, as he’s always a home run threat, but he has quite a bit working against him in this game. Story enters this game with -0.089 wOBA and -0.126 ISO differentials against right-handed pitching. He has also struggled against righties on the road throughout his career, hitting only .230 in that situation. He will play the majority of this game against Ryan Yarbrough in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB. Colorado features one of the lowest implied run totals on the slate at only 3.9 runs, meaning Story should see very few opportunities to hit the over.
