Houston Astros

Justin Verlander (-270)

The two teams recently played with the Houston Astros edging the Los Angeles Angeles in Anaheim. Tonight, the teams will face off in Houston. Verlander has struggled a bit over his last 10 starts, but he owns a 4-0 record with a 1.61 ERA through four starts against Los Angeles this season. The Angels are currently on a cold streak, posting a 1-4 record, while averaging 3.8 runs per game over the last week. Andrew Heaney will be taking the mound for Los Angeles tonight. He allowed five runs over six innings in his last start against Houston. He has also posted a 3-3 record with a 4.64 ERA over his last 10 starts. Furthermore, the Astros are arguably the best offense in the MLB against left-handed pitching, and they are near full health at this point. They have caught fire over the last week, as well, posting a 5-1 record, while averaging 6.5 runs per game over that span.

Bet 4 units on Houston -1.5 RL to win 3 units (-135)

Colorado Rockies

German Marquez (-150)

The Colorado Rockies offense has struggled at times on the road this season, but they are averaging 5.2 runs per game over the last week. They also get a matchup against Eric Lauer, who owns a 5-7 record with a 5.30 ERA this season. He also allowed seven runs in three innings in his only matchup against Colorado this season. German Marquez will face off against the San Diego Padres. In two starts against them, he has allowed only two runs over eight innings. More importantly, Marquez has posted a 7-3 record with a 2.89 ERA through 13 road starts. San Diego also owns a 36.8% win rate at home this season. The Rockies odds are a bit surprising in this matchup, and we can take advantage of that.

Bet 2 units on Colorado -1.5 RL to win 2.2 units (+110)

Atlanta Braves

Mike Foltynewicz (-135)

Mike Foltynewicz has been thrown at a high level this season, posting a 10-8 record with a 2.67 ERA through 25 starts. He has also caught fire recently, allowing two or fewer earned runs in each of his last five starts. He gets a tough matchup against the Chicago Cubs, but their team batting average, slugging percentage, and OPS drop on the road. The Atlanta Braves get a significantly better matchup against Mike Montgomery, who is coming off of an injury. He was heating up before his injury, but he has allowed three or more earned runs in five of his last nine games. The Braves offense has also been at it’s best when they are playing at home against left-handed pitching. Overall, these odds are a bit too good to pass up.

Bet 2 units on Atlanta  -1.5 RL to win 3.10 units (+155)
