We’ve been on fire already this MLB season, and there’s no better time to sign-up. With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…

Top Pitchers

Spencer Strider

Pitching is pretty straight forward today as we have multiple aces on the mound. Strider makes the top of that list as he has just been incredible to start off the year. There is nobody doing what Spencer does on a daily basis, he is averaging 10 strikeouts a game. The Mets havent been striking out a ton but Strider is nearly matchup proof with a whiff rate of 40%. There isn’t much more that has to be said as he is the best pitcher in baseball right now. Lock him in and move on.

Hunter Greene

For our SP2 I am looking towards Hunter. Greene has seen mixed results so far this year but he gets a solid matchup against the Oakland A’s today. Greene owns a 37.5 strikeout rate against their current team but it is also a small sample size.  The biggest thing here is that Hunter is a strikeout machine and Oakland tends to strikeout a lot. Greene has been giving up a fair amount of hits but Oakland only has a couple guys who are actually good at hitting. His fastball is second to none and he averages 99 MPH on it. Hunter also owns a 31% whiff rate which just means hes very good at making guys miss. Overall he is a great play and will be a must for me in lineup construction.

Building Blocks

Jazz Chisolm Jr

This is going to be a very popular play but it is well warranted. Jazz gets a matchup against  Caleb Killian who hasn’t pitched yet this year gets the start with Taillon being injured. In Caleb’s few appearences last year he gave up 5 earned runs a game and didn’t get a lot of strikeouts. Jazz has been on fire with a couple of homeruns in his last 3 games along with hits on top of that. Chisolm is leading off and also comes with plenty of upside as he likes to steal bases as well.

My favorite stack for today is going to be Cleveland against Bello. Brayan has been getting lit up this year and I will attack him again in the hitter friendly Fenway Park. Other teams to stack that I am interested in are the Reds and Pirates.

Spike’s Stat of the Day

Hunter Greene had a game last year where he had 39 pitches thrown over 100 MPH! The previous holder of the record??! Jacob deGrom with 33.
