MLB DFS 6/28/22 – Ben’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 6/28/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. Last year was an extremely big year for the Karma team in MLB, and we are looking to continue that success in 2022. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here. Let’s get to the plays…

Above is an example of the Core Plays given out to Subscribers on Friday May 13th

Pitcher

Pitcher is absolutely loaded on a huge 14 game slate like this, so it’s all going to be about taking stands. Per usual, we have Robbie Ray projecting for over 20% ownership and that is a guy I will just 100% fade on a big slate like this. There’s one stand. Carlos Rodon is projected to be the highest-owned arm, and I agree with the projections that he is the top option tonight. Regardless of ownership, I will be plugging him in as my anchor on Tuesday night. Patrick Corbin is picking up double-digit ownership as well due to his match-up with the Pirates…that’s a hard pass for me. That is the only guys projected for over 10% ownership so we should be getting a relatively low-owned combo no matter who we decide to pair with Rodon. Sean Manaea sticks out as my favorite option, matched up with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Given how cheap the Pittsburgh bats are — see below — the double-spend at SP should be easy to implement tonight.

Building Blocks

Paul Goldschmidt

Coors was a huge letdown on Monday, but it will be right back to the top of the ownership column tonight. That being said, Goldy is my top spend-up on Tuesday and I just can’t see how we fade him against a left-handed pitcher right now. For the season, he owns a .558 wOBA and .392 ISO in the split — truly insane numbers. Braxton Garrett also throws a ton of sinkers — a pitch that Goldy owns over a .240 ISO against with 56% hard-hits. This is one of the spots I’ve felt best about all season.

Michael Chavis

Chavis is way too cheap on DraftKings tonight, and I can see the Pirates getting pretty popular as a way to fit in expensive pitchers and Coors Field stacks. Patrick Corbin has had a real issue allowing homeruns this season, especially to righties. Chavis actually has very good numbers vs LHP as well including a .244 across over 90 PA this season. I don’t see any reason why he is minimum price on DraftKings, and it will be tough to avoid this chalk in cash games / single entry contests.

Bold Call

Pittsburgh scores 7+ runs!
