MLB DFS 7/12/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Top Play – Ha-Seong Kim

Kim and the Padres will command out attention once again in Coors Field, matched up with Austin Gomber. Gomber has struggled to get right-handed batters out this season allowing a .387 wOBA and .254 ISO. Kim doesn’t have the power that we typically like from our bats, but he is projected to bat lead-off tonight and his .377 wOBA vs lefties ranks second on the Padres this season. His 24% line-drive rate is one of the better marks in this lineup as well. Overall, the Padres are the top stack tonight and being able to get their lead-off man this cheap is a great move in all formats.

Top Pitcher – Gerrit Cole

There’s no doubts that Gerrit Cole is the top pitcher tonight, especially in a spot against the Cincinnati Reds. Cole continues to quiet the haters, owning a dominant 31% strikeout rate with a solid 3.20 expected ERA. He struggles with power from time-to-time, but the Reds projected lineup owns a combined .148 ISO vs right-handed pitching this season. His upside is un-matched most days, and he is listed as a huge -331 favorite on Tuesday night.

Top Super-Flex Play – Glenn Otto

Otto is not typically what I target at the super flex position, but this is a bit too cheap for a starting pitcher in a good match-up. Typically I want to spend up for two pitchers, but anytime we get a starter at $6,100 against the Oakland A’s we have to consider it. Otto is not a great pitcher, but his main issue is his walk rate and the projected A’s lineup tonight walks just 6% of the time. To top it off, despite his struggles, Otto is still installed as a -173 favorite and the A’s carry just a 3.8 team total into tonight’s game. He doesn’t have huge strikeout upside, but at this price he doesn’t need it and I think he can be used in all contests.
