MLB DFS 7/22/23 – Spike’s Building Blocks for DraftKings & FanDuel

Welcome in to Spike’s Building Blocks for DraftKings & FanDuel! This is a free article written daily to identify my top-overall DFS plays for cash/gpp games and small-field contests on both DraftKings and FanDuel. I truly appreciate everyone that reads and supports the content. If you’d like to support further you can click HERE to sign-up for a MLB Premium package. This gets you access to my Core Plays daily — allowing you to tail my builds, access the premium Discord channels and view our DFS Projections Portal. This Portal also gives all of your cash and gpp plays as well as our players to fade! We’ve been on fire already this MLB season, and there’s no better time to sign-up. With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…

Top Pitchers

Dylan Cease

This is a matchup I really like. Cease gets a date with The Twins in Minneapolis. Minnesota is leading the league in strikeouts per 9 innings at 10.19 so it is safe to say they strike out a ton. Cease has a 30% strikeout rate against this current lineup and today should be no different. Dylan has given up some hard contact this year but these Twins have been so inconsistent that you cant trust them to hit. There is a chance for rain so just keep an eye out on that. Cease is a must in cash games for me and a good option all over.

Reid Detmers

Reid has been having a solid year so far and gets a date against The Pirates tonight. Reid sports a 29% strike out rate to go along with an xBA of .246. Pittsburgh has really fallen off after a hot start. Only a couple guys on the team that are decent hitters which is a big plus. Detmers also comes with 10+ strike out upside which is nice for DFS purposes. I don’t see him gaining a ton of ownership but that can change through out the day. Lastly, Reid is only 7.5K on DraftKings making him a solid value play and lets you spend up omre on your bats.

Building Blocks

Zach Neto

I really wanted to write up a Mets player but man they have just been atrocious to say the least. Neto is a guy who is slowly coming around and making more of an impact. Projected to lead off tonight against Bido and the Pirates, Zach makes for an excellent choice. Bido throws two pitches for the most part in his slider (44.2%) and his sinker (32.7%).  Neto has been great against the sinker and his expected numberrs show he should make positive regressio against the slider. Sporting 16 hits in last 15 games, you could say he is hot right now. Zach also has some base stealing upside as well which is a great touch for DFS.

My favorite stack for today is going to be The Angel’s against Bido! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Giants and The Mets!
