With that being said, let’s dive into today’s slate…

Top Pitchers

Jesus Luzardo

Luzardo sits on the top of the board today. Getting a extremely solid matchup against Colorado who just always struggle on the road. Jesus sports a 28.3% strike out rate along with walking batters only 6.5% of the time and an xwOBA of .295 makes it easy to see why I wnt to roster him. The Rockies only have 2 batters striking out less than 20% of the time and Luzardo is the type of guy who can deal and has 10+ strike out upside. Another great stat to point out is his whiff rate which stands at 30.5% which just shows you he knows how to make guys miss. Overall, he is a fantastic option across all leagues for this afternoon slate.

Taj Bradley

There is quite a selection for our SP2. Bradley stands out for me the most. From a price point perspective he looks fantastic with a matchup against Baltimore. Bradley actually played Baltimore earlier this year in Tampa Bay and absolutely crushed them. I think it is foolish to project the same stats as before but you can expect similar numbers. Taj is another guy who has 10+ strike out upside who also has a stellar 4 pitch mix that is designed to make batters miss. He has had some struggles with hard contact and they may be a problem today but there is also a good amount of strikeouts to be found in this lineup. Bradley is just too cheap for the king of upside he has and I don’t think its gonna be much of a secret.

Building Blocks

Gleyber Torres

It has been a hot minute since a Yankee has been up here not named Judge. Torres is in a great spot today agiansy Lyles and the Royals. Lyles has actually been good in a hard hit perspective but outside of that he has looke shaky at best. Torres has been heating up recently with 20 hits in his last 15 games along with 7 RBI’s and 3 homeruns. Gleyber also matches up very well with Lyles pitch mix. His 4 seamer (35.1%) and curveball (17.4%) are his top thrown pitches and just happen to be 2 pitches that Torres has found massive success with this year. Even his next most throw pitch is a sinker (11.2%) and Gleyber still has big success there. There are a ton of reasons to like Torres and he mkaes for the perfect one off and a must in a NYY stack!

My favorite stack for today is going to be The Diamondback’s against Weaver! Other teams to stack that I am interested in are The Dodgers and The Yankees!

Spike’s Fun Fact of the Day

The lift span of a major league baseball is about 5-7 pitches. Typically around 70 baseballs are used in one MLB game!
