MLB DFS 7/25/22 – OwnersBox Best Buys

We are beyond thrilled to “officially” announce our newest partners at OwnersBox. While being well known for their WFS (Weekly Fantasy Sports) product, they have recently launched their first ever DFS platform and have been using none other than Karma Nation to test it! You’re probably asking yourself right now, what is OwnersBox and how are they different?

What is OwnersBox? How are they different?

OwnersBox is the newest DFS lineup platform giving you more lineup flexibility than ANYONE else by creating a “SuperFlex“. For MLB, this roster spot allows you to lock in ANY infielder, ANY outfielder, and ANY starting pitcher! You are also not forced to play any specific position as their MLB lineup is simply 4 infielders, 3 outfielders, 1 starting pitcher, and the 1 SuperFlex spot!

Sounds interesting, how do I sign up?!

Glad you asked! You want to CLICK HERE to download their app on whatever mobile device you own. By doing that and using promo code KARMA, you will automatically get a FREE $5 added to your account! Once you decide to deposit, they will add another FREE $25 to your account, no matter how much you deposit! Make sure you get in our free Discord chat room to join all our 24/7/365 OwnersBox lineup discussions as well!

Top Play – Jared Walsh

We always need value if attempting to jam in double-SP, and we can find that in Jared Walsh tonight. Walsh and the Angels are not listed with a huge team total, but the opportunity to score runs will be there against Zack Greinke. Greinke has struggled this season overall, and has pitched to a massive 5.69 expected ERA. We know that Walsh has big-time power, and that’s exactly what I like to target with my value plays. Walsh also destroys fastballs, with some of the best numbers on the roster against the pitch. Since 2019, he owns a .402 wOBA and .253 ISO against heaters. Greinke is throwing his fastball over 40% of the time to lefties this season. Due to his power, Walsh can be used as a cheap one-off tonight.

Top Pitcher – Aaron Ashby

Ashby has the highest strikeout rate on the slate, and a good match-up with the Colorado Rockies away from Coors Field. Ashby has been held back by his walks this season, with a 10% walk rate. The good news for him is that this Rockies team doesn’t walk much, with a 7% rate against left-handed pitching this season. He also has been lights out at home, with a 2.98 xFIP in Milwaukee compared to 3.41 mark on the road. Ashby is installed as a big -190 favorite and this is a good spot to back the highest strikeout arm on the slate for under $10,000 in salary.

Top Super-Flex Play – JT Brubaker

There really isn’t a stand-out Ace on Monday night, so we might need to get a bit weird with our pitching combo. Brubaker is not someone I’ve targeted a lot this season, but he’s in a strong spot tonight against the Chicago Cubs. Chicago strikes out a lot against righty pitcher — and their projected lineup tonight sports a combined 23% K% in the split. He also has dominated this roster in his career. Over a near 90 PA sample-size, Brubaker has allowed a sub-.300 expected wOBA with a 32% strikeout rate against the Cubbies. Overall, I think pairing these two sub-$10K arms makes a ton of sense in all formats on Monday night.
