MLB DFS 8/14/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 8/14/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here.

Pitcher

Cristian Javier has seen his price tag come downn after some mediocre performances. That being said, he gets an elite matchhup against Oakland today. He has a 25% strikeout rate against this roster and is very solid value. He is my top play for pitching on the slate and I expect him to do very well. My next pitcher is once again extremely good value. Lance Lynn has been pretty shaky since returning this year. Positive regression is coming and a matchup against Detroit is a team to get it going agianst.  Detroit can be pesky but Lynn is just far too cheap. I have no issues with Chris Bassitt, Shane Bieber or Kevin Gausman either. I just prefer to spend up with hitting today.

Batters

Freddie Freeman gets a matchup against Brady Singer and the Royals. Singer hasn’t really been terrible this year but Freeman has been solid all year long. Hard contact early 50% of the time while striking out only 15% and getting walked nearly 12%. His numbers against righties are great and I love him today. Yordan Alvarez gets a date with Cole Irvin and Oakland. Now, it is a lefty/lefty matchup but Yordan is nearly matchup proof. He has over 60% hard contact and walks 15% of the time.  He has tons of power/upside and should be lower owned given the lefty on lefty.

Bold Calls

LYNN STRIKES OUT 10!
