MLB DFS 8/28/22 – OwnersBox Lightning Lineups Locks

What’s up everyone! We are super excited for the new format now available from our newest partners, OwnersBox Fantasy. This new format is called “Lightning Lineups” and I wrote an article detailing how to win at this format here. They call it the most electric way to play fantasy sports. Essentially, you are presented lineups with sets of three players, and you simply have to choose the lineup that ends up scoring the most points. You have the option to spin for new sets of players as many times as you want, and the more sets of lineups you go against the higher your payout will be. In this daily article, I will be detailing the teams and players I’m targeting. Let’s get to the plays…

Top Players

Juan Soto- Our projections have Soto as the top-overall play today and any player set with him is going to have a huge advantage. Not only does he project as the best play, the match-up on paper is that good as well against Jonathan Heasley. Heasley has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball against left-handed hitters this season allowing a .395 wOBA and .288 ISO in the split. He throws his fastball over 50% of the time — a pitch that Soto tattoos. He has the best numbers on the Padres against the pitch, with a massive .375 ISO over the last three seasons. San Diego as a team possesses a near 6 run team total today and it’s clear why Soto is the top option.

Bo Bichette- Bichette is another player our projections love, matching up against the left-handed Tucker Davidson. Bichette’s surface numbers against left-handed pitching look rough, but the underlying numbers are encouraging. He hits the ball very hard, and matches up well with Davidson’s pitch mix. I’ve been running a lot of player sets this morning, and it’s fairly common for me to get Bichette matched up with another Blue Jay that projects well. Toronto has one of the highest team totals on the board today and stacking two of them in a set has been my go-to route on Sunday.
