MLB DFS 8/6/22 – Spike’s Building Blocks | DraftKings & FanDuel Picks

Welcome to our MLB DFS Building Blocks, DraftKings and FanDuel picks for 8/7/22! In this article, I’ll break down by top overall plays for today’s main slate. We have already found a lot of success to start the year off and there is plenty more to come! A big KARMA takedown is imminent and only a matter of time. I will be providing Core Plays for every main slate (and day baseball) this season — you can gain access to that as well as our premium discord here.

Pitcher

Max Scherzer gets the start today against the Braves. Don’t get me wrong, Atlanta is a pretty solid offense but they tend to strikeout a lot too. Mad Max has a 33.5% strikeout rate against their current roster and he just has tons of upside. Lock him in as your SP1 and a very solidified option on Fanduel! For our SP2 it is also a no brainer. It’s a double spend up day with Carlos Rodon. He gets an elite matchup against Oakland who have just been bad all year long. Carlos also owns a stirkeout rate over 30% this year. Oakland doesn’t make a lot of hard contact and it is the best matchup on paper for the slate. If you want to save money at pitching, Aaron Ashby is the way to go! The Reds traded away most of their powerful hitters and have become weaker because of it. Ashby has a ton of upside for a lower price.

Batters

Aaron Judge gets a matchup against his former teammate Jordan Montgomery. I think New York in general tear him up as they know what he is capable of. Judge has just been on a tear since the ASB. His hard contact rate is still well above 50% and is a solid one off in any kind of build. Now we will need some savings if we are spending up at pitcher and with Judge. Nick Gordon is still at damn near minimum price across the board and comes with plenty of upside. It is a smaller sample size but he makes hard contact nearly 50% of the time.  He has an xwOBA of and makes for a fantastic value play on this slate. Mitch White was tarded by the Dodgers to Toronto for a reason. He is not very good and on top of that, Gordon has base stealing ability.

Bold Calls

MAD MAX AND RODON BOTH K 10+ BATTERS!
