MLB Jock MKT Plays (6/6/22)

Jock MKT is fun new way to play DFS. In this article, I’ll break down what Jock MKT is and my favorite MLB buys for tonight’s slate.

What Is Jock MKT?

The simplest way to outline this is daily fantasy sports meets the stock market. You’ll purchase shares of players for varying amounts, depending on how much others are willing to pay for them during the IPO. Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. Once all of the games have ended, you will receive money based on how well your player performs compared to the field on the Jock MKT app for the night.

6/6/22 Top Buy

Alejandro Kirk, Toronto Blue Jays

Potential Bid: $6.00

Break-Even Point: 28th

If you’re new to Jock MKT, you may be struggling to read what’s listed below the Kirk recommendation. Essentially, I’m willing to spend up to $6.00 per share for him. He needs to finish 28th in the field for me to make my money back with the opportunity for me to make more if he finishes higher.

For example, if I buy 1 share of Kirk at $6.00 and he finishes 28th in this field, I make my $6.00 back. If he finishes 1st, I win $25 (profit $19.00). If he finishes last, I win $1 (lose $5.00). It’s that simple.

It’s a small Monday slate, with tons of weather threatening to decrease the game amount as well. Overall, on slates like this I like to focus the bulk of my entries on the clear best offensive spot and tonight that is the Toronto Blue Jays against Daniel Lynch. Lynch struggles to consistently get right-handed batters out, which is bad news since he will see eight of them tonight. One of them is Kirk, who has been on fire for Toronto. Not only has he been homering at will in recent days, the batted ball numbers back that up with 53% hard-hits and 42% fly-balls over that span. He was one of the best AL breakout candidates coming into the season and he finally looks healthy and locked in at the plate.

Value Buy

Jo Adell, Los Angeles Angels

Potential Bid: $3.60

Break-Even Point: 46th

Adell is clearly the top value for me on Monday night, because we know how much raw power he possesses. It’s not often you’ll find power hitters priced this cheap, and we’ve already seen Adell with a multi-HR game this season. He’s been down in the minors, but was recalled over the weekend and should be in the lineup tonight. The match-up is neutral against Michael Wacha, he gives up slightly above average power to right-handed batters but overall is a pretty league average pitcher. Match-up doesn’t factor in as heavily for me down in this pricing tier, we are solely trying to secure upside and Adell has as much power of anyone on the entire slate.
