Once the Live Trading starts, you can buy players that others want to sell or sell your players during the game. I love this spot on the 4th for the Rays who match up with Austin Davis. Davis has flashed some strikeout ability this season, but the underlying metrics look really scary including a 5.26 xFIP and almost 12% walks! He’s been especially bad against right-handed hitters allowing a .343 wOBA compared to just a .191 mark against lefties. Franco has some of the better numbers on the Rays against left-handed pitchers including a 24% line-drive rate. He also has the highest wOBA on the team against fastballs — a pitch that Davis throws over 40% of the time. Tampa opened up with a 5 run team total and I want some exposure to their lineup today, starting with Franco.
