Over Under 2/2 – Golden State Warriors/New Orleans Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Pelicans are two fast paced teams, who focus more heavily on offense than defense. Stephen Curry has struggled early this season, shooting only 20% from beyond the arc through two games. He is averaging 10 three-point attempts per game, though. Curry also owns a 43.6% average from three-point range. This game features a projected total of 236 points, and Curry boasts a team-high 34.7% usage rating. He should find plenty of success in this matchup.

D’Angelo Russell is the other focal point of the Golden State offense. In his first game of the season, shot 4-8 from beyond the arc. He attempted only one three-point shot in his second game before getting ejected in the third quarter. Russell should continue to be a featured offensive member of this team, and his numbers are more likely to look like his first game rather than his second one moving forward. Russell and Curry are two players that have the potential to catch fire on any given night, and they have the upside to hit this play on their own.

Lonzo Ball hasn’t been known as a shooter throughout his career, but he has shot 37.5% from the three-point line this season. Ball shot 2-3 from beyond the arc in his first game. In 2 games since then, he has shot 7-19 in 69 minutes. The Warriors are allowing their opponents to shoot for a 51.6% average from three-point range in 2019. That number isn’t sustainable, but shows they have true flaws throughout their defense. Ball comes with quite a bit of potential in this game, and his shot has looked as good as it ever has.
