More or Less 2/2 – Washington Wizards/New York Knicks
If you read my PrizePicks article, you know I’m all in on Bradley Beal tonight. The majority of the Washington Wizards rotation is injured. Isaiah Thomas, Jordan McRae, C.J. Miles, Davis Bertans, Rui Hachimura, Moritz Wagner, and Thomas Bryant have already been ruled out. Beal is expected to see his usage rating sit around 35% tonight. He’s averaging 31.8 points in 37.5 minutes per game over the last 10 days, as well. Over that span, Beal is averaging 22.8 shot attempts, 10.2 three-point attempts, and 10.4 free three attempts per game. Those numbers could increase slightly, as Beal could see 40 minutes tonight. He gets an elite matchup against the New York Knicks, who have struggled defensively this season. Beal has scored 35+ points in 3 of his last 4 games, and he could do so once again tonight.
Julius Randle won’t have as large of a role in the New York offense as Beal will for Washington. Still, the former is averaging 19.2 points in 28.6 minutes per game over the last 10 days. In those games, he’s averaging 15.8 shot attempts, 4.6 three-point attempts, and 4.6 free throw attempts per game. Randle has also played 30+ minutes in 4 of his last 6 games, scoring 20+ points in each of those games. Washington simply doesn’t have any big men left to defend him. Their only true bigs are Ian Mahinmi and Anzejs Pasecniks, while Admiral Schofield will also spend time at power forward and potentially center. Washington plays at one of the fastest paces in the NBA, while featuring arguably the worst defense in the league. While Randle certainly comes with risk, there isn’t anyone for Washington that will be able to slow him down on the court.
