Bales’ Bananas – Monkey Knife Fight NBA Prop Picks 3/1/19

Over Under 2/2 – Chicago Bulls/Atlanta Hawks

Lauri Markkanen has seen his role in the offense increase recently, as he’s averaging 26.0 points per game over his last 10 games. He’s also averaging 18.1 shot attempts, 6.9 three-point attempts, and 6.5 free throw attempts per game over that span. He has also scored 22+ points in seven of those 10 games. Atlanta features one of the worst defenses in the NBA against opposing bigs, and Markkanen should have no issues finding success in this game. Kevin Huerter isn’t quite as close to a lock, although he has recorded two or more three-pointers made in six of his last 10 games. He has only played more than 25 minutes in one of his last four games, and he totaled two three-pointers made in that game. He’s expected to play around 30 minutes tonight, giving him ample opportunities to hit the over. Furthermore, Chicago is allowing the third most three-pointers made (3.2) per game to shooting guards this season. Huerter comes with some risk, but should find the over if he’s given the time on the court.

Play $50 on Lauri Markkanen OVER 21.5 points and Kevin Huerter OVER 1.5 three-pointers made to win $121 (2.42x)

Over Under 2/2 – Milwaukee Bucks/Los Angeles Lakers

Kyle Kuzma has been a bit inconsistent recently, but he’s in an elite spot tonight. He’s averaging 23.0 points on 17.0 shot attempts, 6.1 three-point attempts, and 3.3 free throw attempts over his last seven games. More importantly, this game is going to feature an elite pace, and features the highest implied total on the slate at 239.5 points. Kuzma is a major part of the offense, and he’ll certainly find plenty of shots tonight. Generally, I try to stay away from steals and blocks props, but this one is set too low. Brook Lopez has been on a tear recently, averaging 4.5 steals and blocks per game over his last seven games. He has also totaled 3+ steals and blocks in six of those seven games, failing to do so only against the Boston Celtics. As mentioned above, this game is going to feature an elite pace, which will give more opportunities for Lopez to find steals and blocks. Furthermore, the Los Angeles Lakers have been a below average team in terms of steals and blocks allowed to opposing centers this season.

Play $50 on Kyle Kuzma OVER 19.5 points and Brook Lopez OVER 2.5 steals and blocks to win $121 (2.42x)

Over Under 2/2 – Los Angeles Clippers/Sacramento Kings

This play is relatively simple. Lou Williams is an elite scorer, and the only thing that generally can stop him is a blowout. The Sacramento Kings have struggled against opposing guards throughout the season, and Williams is averaging 15.3 points in onl 23.0 minutes per game against Sacramento this season. He’s expected to see 30+ minutes tonight, as this game is projected to stay close. Williams owns a usage rating well over 30%, and he is an elite scorer, who won’t be stopped, unless his minutes are cut. Buddy Hield has made three or fewer three-pointers in eight of his last 10 games, but I’m siding with the volume here. He’s averaging 8.6 three-point attempts per game over that span, including three games with double-digit three-point attempts. He’s also shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc on the season, as opposed to only 38.4% from beyond the arc over that span. This game is going to be fast paced and high scoring, and Hield could be in for position regression, as he has only shot 2-20 from beyond the arc against the Los Angeles Clippers this season.

Play $50 on Lou Williams OVER 21.5 points and Buddy Hield OVER 3.5 three-pointers made to win $120 (2.4x)
